My dad has a glass cutter exactly like that.
@Richiew Nice! What are the extraction arrangements?
havent had time today, but want to check repeatability first with my spacer...I acquired this face plate from @brewdexta earlier this year.. yesterday used a mates Colchester to recut the thread to m45 by 3.. wasn't much out to start with.. had to make a short spacer but there is virtually no run out
You can skim the faceplate now fitted to your lathe and it will be dead nuts.
Everything has come to a halt in the garage as I've ran out of space.
Errr, use it outside?
I set it up outside the other day to test it and just managed to get that little piece of wood planed before it started raining and had to decamp.
I've been looking at cyclone attachments for vacuums. Dust extractors seem to sell very cheaply on Facebook marketplace too but it's all extra space, running costs and unwanted noise isn't it? It's also suspicious just how many dust extractors are for sale. They must be expensive to run, annoying or something else the way they seem to fall out of favour and get sold for very little.
I'm getting a woodwork shed at the bottom of the garden. Some of my non sparky sheet metal tools might end up there too. Everything has come to a halt in the garage as I've ran out of space.
Once the shed is up, I will form a plan.
Took these of the poor seized engine bits this morning.Got any pictures of the engine? Its where i served my time
Have fun!I scored this little lathe
at one time i fancied having some rods that size as chain fence posts...Took these of the poor seized engine bits this morning.
I fancy snaffling a pair of the pistons & rods - they are only scrap now.

That's the Uber-SnaffleIs it still snaffling if you have to use a gantry crane?
