Yes, as the site is to be closed and levelled I was collecting them for disposal and making safe. I will drain the Water cans into brown water sewars. The Foam will be washed through the filter cleaner and the water goes down the drain. Waste foam is sent to be disposed of.
Best of all I get to play with the CO2 recycling equipment.

I remember finding a yellow British Rail extinguisher unused, heavily corroded in the woods near school (abandoned tmd was nearby). Being age 14, we stupidly tried to set it off, and failing that took it to school and found it a friend (big red water extinguisher). School were not happy. The man who came to get it didn't even want to touch it. I remember writing lines 'I must not interfere with the school fire safety systems'!

Then I stumbled on these cabinets from an old bank office nearby at 20 euros a piece. Some wheels on those and I got two decent tool cabinets.

I took down them last night to be told.
" We don't want second hand rubbish, we expected new equipment. If you want leave it, we will E bay it"

When I said, I will not be doing that, the CO got upset and demanded that I leave it.
It was not left, I reminded him his rant was a cadet rank, as mine rank was real.
Sorry it was petty, but I was not annoyed.

It will be rehomed at a cause what will appreciate it.

Had to remind an army cadet CO that his rank was makebelieve after I shouted at his cadets (who were manning a "first aid" tent) when I was with SAR, because of the 15 or so cadets and 4 adults, not one of them bothered to put their fag out or phone down to attend to the woman sat in the tent crying her eyes out and suffering from mild hypothermia.

I've given it a try but it doesn't quite work. It powers up and air flows to the torch when you press it down onto the workpiece but it makes no effort to start an arc. Had a wee peek inside and I can't see any wires off or burnt.
Given that it's 30 years old I'm not sure if it's worth trying to sort it or not. What do you guys reckon?

Jaws missing but I am liking the general condition and especially the lettering in the casting. This one will get a proper restoration to factory standard.

I'm currently working on one that's going to be less original but more practical.

Yes.

I didn't have time today to check if the trigger switch is working or not. First port of call with the multimeter when I get a minute.

The switch for the pilot arc is a possibly a bit iffy too. Might not be making contact properly there.

I'll have to stick a 32a plug on it as it's currently got a 13a with a lump of brass for a fuse

Yes, I do realise I should have done that first but hey ho nothing caught fire and no-one died!

Nothing at all, by the sound of things. Progress is amazing, comparing this to my teeny tiny cut40.. As of yesterday that doesnt work either, but it's much easier to cart about to get it fixed...

What I nearly aquired ..... I walked past a charity shop yesterday & on the floor outside was a big old Record vice marked at £20. My first thought was buy it & pass it on, I don't need another one, just then a friend of mine came past & I pointed it out to him, he said "my son in law is after one" anyway in the shop he goes & they offer it to him for £15, so as I say it's what I nearly aquired.
