2nd time lucky (fingers crossed).
After the debacle of the cancelled F4, I went looking for another one and found this...
Not got the extended battery pack, but I'll only bother about that if I find the standard pack in the grip isn't beefy enough. Non-pro users seem to be happy enough with the life of 4 AA Duracells - somebody mentioned 70 films life, which is ok by me. Even if it's only 30, that'd still be fine.
The lens is the standard nifty-fifty, 50mm f;1:1.4 which remained substantially unchanged for fifty years and long established itself as a fairly sharp workhorse. I'm curious to see how it behaves on the D600.
The addition of the small flash sweetened the deal, but I've got lots of flash options, however this small flash is fairly unobtrusive and works with the camera TTL seamlessly.
Hopefully, it will arrive without me getting clobbered for duty (too much).
