Simple.
It was in a Skip. Was it sitting on side of road or not? Does it werk?
Fbmp - collapsing ladders cheap as the lock on 1 section won’t release & collapse.
Ideal as I’ve been using extending ladders to access my loft and they’re too long to move upstairs easily.
Next question does anybody know how to unstick a lock on McAliistair ladders? View attachment 418614
They have a (hopefully) idiot proof green safe / red unlocked indicator on each catch, the faulty one is locked and showing green so I'm happy its secure - the only fault seems to be that 1 catch is frozen locked.I wouldn't trust them , mind your fingers...
I had one of those Abus Granit disk locks thirty (?) years ago, mine did not have the painted shackle though.Yesterday a package arrived with a used disc lock I got from that well known auction site. Unlike the Granit 68 lock I acquired recently, this one actually fits my Honda 750x bike.

Neither did it have the day glow cord and yes I did try to ride off with it on the disk, but only once. That's what the coiled yellow cord is for, attaches over the front brake lever by the starter as a reminder; but then you know that, right ?
If you decide to sell the middle lathe tool in the bottom row (triangular tip) could you let me know what size tips it takes?Dropped into my local Scrapyard today for a mooch, could only stay for 5 mins as they had all kinds of roll on,s getting changed and it was manic...anyway was not fruitless

More info needed, I also have one where the handle is stuck, did you just take the cover off and clean or completely dismantle itAsked a mate if he had a vice for sale. Left me a message. Vice collection has now grown by five, plus two others bought at the weekend. Oops.
The mag vice was in poor condition. Handle seized. Stripped down, cleaned out, and surface ground the inside sliding face. Reassembled. Smooth action. No loss of magnetism. Next job grind top and base.

Flipped over and removed all screws. One already missing - someone had been fiddling. Punched through all pins. Switched magnets off. Now right way up. Used two flat pry bars with spacer between to separate (just) both parts. This needed a great deal of care not to lose fingers! Put packing in to reduce risk of finger loss. Then separated, quite easily. Inspected. Cleaned out junk. Checked linkage/cam. Underneath of top face corroded, so surface ground flat. Lubed. Reassembled with no loss of digits (just). Nudge into alignment. All pins and screws back in. Surface ground. Job done.More info needed, I also have one where the handle is stuck, did you just take the cover off and clean or completely dismantle it
Apparently this model as stood the test of time then, as Abus are still making it. I see them going for as much as £148.oo (new) on the bay of evil, but I won this used one by posting a hail mary bid of £22.oo and got lucky. It was a bit rusty, but a spray of WD40 along with a Scotch-Brite pad and use of a .45 cal. pistol cleaning brush down the shackle tubes got it functioning smoothly.I had one of those Abus Granit disk locks thirty (?) years ago, mine did not have the painted shackle though.

I actually suffered very little damage, keeping the bike upright as the wheel had only about a quarter of a rotation before the lock hit a caliper.
