I get messages if I am typing and someone posts in the meantimeI thought it was just me
Do you not get a little message telling you that more posts have been made that asks if you want to read them?
No, me as well. If I remember I look at the new posts and then usually delete the reply I was half way through typing!I thought it was just me

Proper slush box then
It's just personalNobody told me.
In a fit of stupidity I had a 1950 series one 80” I was driving in the winter with no canvas, and parking outside. Water ran off the floor plates directly onto the freewheeling section of the transfer box, it must’ve gradually filled up the transfer box over a number of weeks through the linkages because one day when I was driving it a pressurised jet of emulsified oil shot up through cut away section of the floor plate all over my legs. I stripped the box and it was absolutely fine still with no water damage.Proper ****** box then !

As part of the rebuild I promised myself the gearbox was either getting repaired or replaced.
The water will have got in when I was pressure washing the grease and grime off.
I was going to drop the oil the next day, but took ill and the contaminated oil has been there sice early August.
The water in the oil is towards the least of this gearbox's problems. In a fit of stupidity I had a 1950 series one 80” I was driving in the winter with no canvas, and parking outside.
