Today I acquired...........

Tap and dies set from eBay, this was enough expensive compared to other cheap set .
But they are practically the most complete and on the cheap side and it was the only set I've been able to find.
They are SAE UNF ,UNC,UNS .
Up to 3/4"
There are also some metric most used thread pitches.
I'll buy a complete metric set as well in the next future.
We actually run the machine shop using a 70 euros set + few wexo and dormer machine taps and very old SKF dies .
They would be adequate for my needs and uses .
I've preferred to get the imperial set first because as said up above, pretty hard to find.

That's just counting 240v angle grinders.

I think i have another 5 240v die grinders, plus a few air grinders.

I hate swapping discs between tasks.

I'm more obsessed I think.
Reason why I have so many is because most of them I've got for cheap and are very good ones, Metabo, Hilti, Würth, Hitachi.
They differ in power and features,but most of them have safety clutch.
4 Metabo I have have mechanical safety clutch,1 has electronic safety clutch as well as a Fein and a Würth one.
The Hitachi, Bosch, the Milwaukee, and the Hilti ones have not .
I just love to have the right tool for the job .
Plus I used to do many little welding jobs and I always carried 2 at least.
Planning to get another one for a restoration video if possible, and a cordless one brand new but I think I have to many.
I surely have more than my company has (not mine but where I work as machinist)

I found this on the tool shelve.

Out side in the scrap bin I found this.

I jolly well know what it is, so I dived deeper. Then I found this part.

The good thing is they go together.

I was given one a few years ago , it kept blowing fuses , looked at the base it stands on & saw it was worn through , the case had half an inch or more of water inside it .

Considering that the biggest one looks to be a Dormer one which are sold for 80 euros at least I think we can call it a bargain

It was full of so much stuff I liked, so with the ££££££ I had from weighing in scrap metal I went a bit mad.

I don't need any more, but that lot was £100.

Today i acquired John's Anvil, he was my father in law & passed away about 4 years ago. We have been meaning to move the thing from their back garden to ours for some years but its a big one & goes about 4 1/2cwt. This weekend our son hired a van to move his girlfriends stuff as she has sold her house & is moving in with us for a while until their new place happens. As they had the van for another day we decided to move the beast. It was bloody heavy & we ended up moving it on rollers & up a scafold board into the van. Unloading it was easier!
This was the anvil from the Benfleet Village forge that was demolished in the late 50's. It is a wrought base with welded on top, very battered & has a bad gouge out of it that has morphed into a crack.
It now sits a quarter of a mile from where it was probably used for centuries. Quite what we do about the damage im not sure but im thinking to leave it.
