Here is it in my trunk cause I'm not allowed to take it home yet....
Anyways is a Stayer ST/24 , 1Hp ,230V only, 200mm .
And it was cheap cause it doesn't work.
It spins freely, but it just produces a buzzing sound.
When I've picked it up I've noticed disconnected wires, it's probably just a capacitor,or a centrifugal switch,or maybe a burnt wire to the windings.
Hopefully not the windings

A new capacitor and it'll probably be as good as the day it came out of the factory

Today I finally cashed in a £50 voucher work gave me for being there 2 years. Combined with a £7.51 credit note from Amazon, I managed to acquire a Sealey SMS2008 Drill Sharpener marked down on Amazon.

I was hoping for a lot (I really can't sharpen drills by hand!) Expecting it to be rubbish (Like every other drill sharpener I've owned)

OMG - It actually works!!!

Very impressed so far!!

The thing is a tank cutter

Really ..... it looks more like a tin plate or thin wood trepanning cutter for a hand brace , that those who don't know call tank cutters

Tank cutters are usually a three piece affair a top cutter with a head for a spanner, a precision high tensile center Allen headed bolt and a bottom cup some times also with a spanner head that the top cutter is directed into . I've used them to cut 1/2" cast iron and inch thick steel plates.

Not bought but one of those rare occasions where you wish you had the storage, it reminded me of an Ebay add for a job lot toolroom to clear out £13000 it stated all tools to be removed, through the poorly lit photo's I could counted about 7 Hardinge lathes and various milling machines and cabinets full of accessories and tools.

Today I acquired some honest to goodness genuine clear flat space in the workshop.

Obviously nature abhors a vacuum so as if by magic ..

I've removed the chuck and perspex cover for weight reduction as I can barely slide it on a smooth surface.

Even the heavy lifter was feeling the strain.

Pretty sure i'm going to use all custom brackets. The supplied ones from allendale are die cast junk.
