there are literally 100s of these too but cant find anything they fit in not idea why he had them, just random piles of them all over

They look to be soft jaws. Once upon a time that was a fortune sat there. Alas all rusty they are now scrap

Hikoki 18v trimmer

I love mine, use it for most routing jobs now as its so handy. Shame they never released the 36v version over here.
I don't know if you are aware, but the Makita trimmer bases do fit the Hikoki machines, certainly I can confirm the plunge one does with a bit of minor fettling.
Makes it even more useful. I don't know why they didn't realise their own versions.

I've been looking for a Stihl MS361 for about 4 or 5 Years.
Both because it's a pretty powerful saw and not exaggeratedly big and because I personally like how it looks (I'm a strange guy I know that)
I've attempted to bid on different ones in those years, never been lucky as they get expensive pretty easily.
Attempted to get one locally without receive a response.
Found few ones but didn't have money.
Though about getting a clone saw but never get one because various reasons.
Well I ended up buying one today, the seller has been really kind to delete the order because he had two of them on eBay I was having a look and picked up the wrong one .
He accepted a lower offer, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Spare and repairs obviously, not worth the money because shipping+vat+taxes but I wanted one of those saws (this exact specific model) for so many years, I've had to buy it.
Great restoration project for this winter, along with her little sister the MS192T

Take this strimmer, £28 ebay auction said to be non runner. I just added fresh fuel, purged it a bunch and it started first pull. Runs great

I will replace the broken recoil housing, spray the shaft and job done.

I have to be honest with you, I'm more scared of the jonsered rabbit hole.
I didn't even know this brand till a while ago I've got a 2036 turbo for free, posted in here, and I said something like I was going to throw it away...
Someone in here I cannot remember who, has been so kind to send me a clutch from one he had for parts.
I've did the usual stuff you do with chainsaws an after a long and accurate tuning session it was just a ripper for its displacement.
It was just perfect.
Unfortunately a man I was working for used it too hard blowing the engine.
I completely rebuilt it, practically restored.
Unfortunately oil tank crack and oil pump seem to be a little too delicate on those saws so now it's on the shelf waiting for repairs again.

I've picked it up just to show it to you
It's a 2040 now
I've used an Husqvarna 140 cylinder kit, lovely saw to use

thanks for the heads up , but i did already know about the makita bases anb been keeping a n eye out . Btw I've never had an issue with it being 18v i've plenty of the smaller multi volt batteries . I've also already got the 36v 1/2" router and a nice piece of kit it is too .

The 1/2" looks a beast, I've been tempted but don't do enough wood bothering to justify that, and I've a couple of corded ones if needs be.
From what I've seen the 36v JDM version of the trimmer smokes the 18v in terms of power and runtime, the only downside is you can't use anything more compact/lightweight than the 5Ah.
I'd have been tempted as I tend to use the trimmer now for everything, so the extra power would have been handy, but the cost of importing doesn't really make it worthwhile.
That said I'm more than happy with mine, especially with a decent quality bit.

I was looking for an infra red thermometer to go with our pizza oven, as well as for general use - and while trawling through Amazon and coming across the usual Chinese ones (which I’m sure would do the job) I came across a FLIR TG56 model for £70 - it’s an older model, the newer version TG 56-2 has a bigger temperature range (up to 1300 deg C) but this one is fine for my use (up to 600 deg C). These were about £180 when a current model, and it’s brand new in the box so comes with usual FLIR warranty etc - the build quality and feel of it is fantastic.

I used to carry a FLIR IR camera in a previous job for thermal surveys so I know that their gear is very good.

Does anyone know how to unwind it?
There's two ratchet pawls that both need pulling out at the same time but you need two pairs of hands to do it, that can't be right can it?
Also some automotive connectors for fixing various problems.

From memory you release the little one on the handle which stays put, the big one on the roll you have to hold as you unwind it
