That's an odd one ? Especially with the open section of the movable jaw casting. The back end of both casting's looks like something might fit in there ?A vice with swivelling jaws. Never seen the brand before, d&diy or d&diu?

I think maybe there would have been piece that dropped in behind each set of swivels to lock them in place when doing more normal parallel vice work?That's an odd one ?
