That is infact a genuine junior hacksaw blade! I think they are intended for children to play with whilst their father does diy with a proper hacksaw. The chance of child injuring or cutting anything are nil.
Yet to find one thats any good!

Thanks for the pics chap. I like that, especially the last one. I did wonder if there might be a bit of glare, but shielding it like you have seems to sort that.
Now the big question! How do I replicate that? I take it, it's something that has been cobbled together, any suggestions as to how?

Amazon selll "Ring lights" which I find quite good as worklights, this is likely the same sort of thing. Mine has a USB cable and needs a powerbank to run.

the circular light looks proprietary however the cabling is a little heath robinson

We obviously bought our blades from the same place. I haven't used a junior hacksaw for 30 yrs or more as I couldn't find a blade worth having.
If I have to, a snapped full size blade in a welding gloved hand as my Eclipse padsaw handle, inherited from my dad, seems to snap them even shorter at the slightest thing.
I'll get my old one out, it's a car angel eye, let me know what diameter you need and I'll measure it.

My spindle measures 66mm.
I've got a cheap make-up ring lamp on my small mill - it does work well to light things up - but blocks access to the spindle lock. Any lower, and it blocks the view.
I found an Ikea anglepoise type lamp clamped nearby did a good job though.
Ok, I'll dig it out tomorrow.

Just a metre of inch square hollow section mild steel.
Split with the Mighty Startrite 18 - V - 10, that's enough for a few D.1 /D.3 Bantam pillion footrest hangers.

The same area as your 66mm on my mini-mill is where you shove a pin in to hold the spindle - had to space the lamp down from it, and it made it a bit too much faff to keep on .
