Spotted these for sale on gumtree.

5 T186 6" carver clamps, was wanting £110 so not bad considering they're making £30+ on ebay, new ones are over £50! I couldn't get to them until Saturday, sure they'd be gone before that. The seller had a few time wasters and was surprised when I actually turned up. Guy was really nice and threw these into the deal!

2 record 121-3" clamps, 1 record no 3, 1 record no 4 and 2 welding clamps, one of which is a genuine vice-grip

Then he started hunting through various drawers in his garage for other stuff that I might be interested in. I got this nice 18" stillson for £10.

It says Kurachi Osaka on it so I assume it's made in Japan. Never heard of the make but it feels like good quality, something like a rigid or record.

He had advertised it and got no calls so it was dumped outside. Offered him £20 and it came home with me! It's a Mancuna A2x drill with an automatic ratchet feed and 2-speed gearing on it. Everything is moving on it - the guy used to use it until he bought a drill press.

Essex county hospital shut a while ago, all that's left is the workshops of the electricians, plumbers and painters*. Now they have to leave too so they've been going through all the old crap they don't want any more and skipping it. Dad has been kindly rescuing things or me, so far I've got a new three phase switch in a steel case.

A Dab water pump with an auto pressure cut out, pressure gauge and dampener thing (I know what it does, just not what it's called).

The pressure switch didn't seem to work which is why the cover is off and there's a connection block to mains.

A little 1/8HP Gryphon motor with a Compton diaphragm pump. I don't know what I can do with it yet but it's a nice little unit. Any uses you can think of?

Some kind of charger thing, I haven't tested it yet because the positive lead has been severed. Don't really know why I wanted it or what I could do with it but that's not the point.

Dad's keeping this for himself, a Sykes Pickavant 2 leg hydraulic puller.

There's a Startrite drill press and a Record vice (In quite a bad way) wrapped in "DO NOT USE" tape, I've got dibs on them too if they're to go in the skip. There's also a workbench with a plywood top that can't be moved, on closer inspection it would appear to have a thick bit of steel in it. There may be more in there too. There was a safe on the floor, mine if I could move it.

*Actually, the linear accelerators with their lead lined rooms are still there. They're being professionally dismantled soon though which means I can't take one apart.

Picked up 2no "high chairs" for sitting at my unconstructed welding table, from the local college FOC. They're knocking a sizeable lump of it down.

Oh, and 4no four drawer filing cabinets.

I've been calling it an electrohydrolytic capacitor.

I put my tig peashooter on the air pump and the ball floated at 25 LPM. I don't know how true this value is though as the peashooter is calibrated for argon, not air. I'll time how long it takes to fill an upside down measuring cylinder underwater with air, if that makes sense.

Your peashooter is calibrated for gas pressure, it doesn't matter what gas it is. The little pump might make an airbrush compressor.

Then why does it have two slightly different scales for argon and CO2? It has an auto vent thing which is quite a low pressure so I don't know if it would be good for anything.

Can be, also in hydraulic circuits. The original Citroen suspension had accumulators instead of shocks.

10litres duck oil, 5 litres jizer, loads of oil cans / grease / hand cleaners etc, various odds and ends tools.
Mint condition 12ft Zodiac mk2 inflatable boat from early 70's on a good road trailer.
An 1990s Evinrude 4hp outboard like new.

Oh, and three disposable bbq s and two massive bags of cat litter to keep the other half happy!

Total for all this..... Eighty pounds!

Was at an auction tonight and I bought this.

Draper 10 piece hydraulic puller set brand new in box, retail price £84, I paid £25.

Also bought this.

It's a metabo W8-115 800w angle grinder with quick release nut and clever quick release guard. Retail price £90, mine for £14! Tried it out at home by fitting a grinding disc and tried cutting with it. Grinder refused to slow down despite me really leaning on it - very powerful but smooth running plus it's made in Germany, not the far east like most others.

Not bought today but rediscovered, a brand new 3m air fed grinding mask and air feed belt, found it in a cupboard in the garage, forgot I had it!

Just picked up a Migatronic 180A welder in need of some TLC, the capacitor bank is knackered but I have found some cheap replacements, I also found a Kennedy power hacksaw on Facebook for £50, I should save my arm a bit!

I bought the WB 11 125 Quick on ebay to replace my cheap ones that died. You can get any part as spares and they are really strong grinders with sealed motors to protect from dust. The quick nut gets in the way sometimes but the rest of the time I love this tool.

If you ever sell that, you should make a few bob profit too. Those small Kennedy's seem to be quite sought after.
