I only ordered on Wednesday so 10/10 to Flexipads for speed, but there must have been a better option than sending them in a gigantic box packed out almost entirely with plastic bags filled with more scrunched up plastic bags.

Are the plastic bags used that they have taken products out of?
Box - a couple of sizes take most things they send out if they don't fit in jiffy bags. It's cheaper than stocking lots of different sizes. Put some packing in, especially if the packing is stuff you would have to pay for disposal.

Useful bits from 2 old microwave oven gifted by my uncle as scrap metal.
Saved the transformers, 4 or 5 thermal switches ranging better 85 to 150°C, 7 or 8 micro switches, what looks like to be some sort of relay.

Actually cheaper than the bare unit.

Maybe got it cheaper because they already make an hybrid clone of Milwaukee, DeWalt and Makita designs all together in one drill, on this other one you can dim the light, on mine not.
Probably discontinued.
On the onevan website they claim 650Nm which is not going to happen not even thinkable, but on Amazon they claim a more plausible value.
The real Makita should have 130Nm, we know Parkside made a 120Nm or it was 80Nm anyways my 5 plus years old brushless Parkside is dieing and 60Nm have been enough for everything I've ever needed.
Some times I've needed an auxiliary handle and wasn't meant to have one so I've break bits, ruined holes, torqued my wrists...
We'll see another disassembled clone very soon

The mystery machine finally made it into the workshop...

It could do with a good vacuuming, and a new extractor hose.

At the same time as a smallish heat treatment oven which needs a new thermocouple, and will get fitted with a Fuji Electric programmable PID at the same time.

In a fit of productivity I also managed to dig out the remaining air tools and sort out the welding bench (apart from moving the granite surface plate to it's proper home, because it's too heavy to lift alone).

Including putting the spanners for the grinders on a tether so they can't walk.

Surface grinders are not common to bed found over here, especially "hobbyist size" ones

Yeah, I was very lucky to get that one, as it's sized for a smaller workshop but still built to go into an industrial environment (which it did for 30 years, as I'm only the second owner).

The other option I was considering was a Churchill Hydraulic one which would have taken up about 50% more floor space for an additional 50mm grinding capacity.

Also finally in position after several months, the engraver and a cabinet full of copy.

As set up there's no clashes between the three machines, but to operate the engraver comfortably, the mill and grinder tables both have to move to one end of their x travel.

I really need to sort out a 3P+N+E socket on that wall tomorrow now, as well as finish reorganising everything that just moved to accommodate that.

I should also consider making a cover for the pantograph, or a second dust curtain, even once I have the extractor running on the grinder.

One good vacuuming later, I've removed three full vacuums worth of grinding swarf from the less accessible recesses of the machine.

Somewhat ironically given the markings:

I am extremely glad I resisted the urge to blow it down with compressed air, although a controlled air-vacuum combo might be the final cleaning step.

A few red goodies.

I've been wanting the M12 soldering iron for a while, to save me having to take my good Hakko soldering iron into the workshop when I need to solder bits on machines.
Battery is because all my M12 batteries are at work, and I wanted to try one of the new High Output batteries, and the charger is because I've got no way to charge M18 batteries at home, and I've got no need to buy any more complete M18 kits just to get another charger.

Bought this Chinese rotary table from Vevor.
I've been keeping my eye out for a second hand quality one for some time, but all the ones I've come across so far were too big for my small round column mill and/or silly money.
I decided this week I need one for a small project asap, so bit the bullet and ordered this 150mm one from cheap and cheerful.
Out of the box it looks exactly that, cheap and cheerful.
When turning it bound up between 270° and 300°.
First thing I did was dismantle it, deburr all the parts and clean out all the grit from manufacturing.
The binding up has gone now and it turns quite smoothly but the bore in the handwheel is off centre so it wobbles a bit. The shaft is straight. Maybe in the future I will bore the handwheel out and bush it.
Still have to check if it sits level on the table. Wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't.
Still, I think it will do for my not so accurate tinkering for now.

It's a soldering iron. You turn it on, and it heats up

But seriously, it does the job.
Didn't take that long to heat up (light flashes green while heating, then solid green once hot - also lights red when still turned off and still hot).
My only complaint is it quite bulky, so it certainly wouldn't be my first choice for PCB work, but for soldering wires (which is why I really bought it), it's manageable.

A gas soldering iron would be cheaper, but it's easier to refill a battery at home, than it is gas.

I have the same Milwaukee soldering iron and just use it for car electrics and joining or tinning wires and it’s ideal. Using it outdoors it seems to be more constant and reliable than the gas one I have but no control over heat output but never felt the need to either. It is bulky but never feels overly big somehow and adjusting the angle I thought was just a gimmick but used it quite a few times now.

I’ve read a few complaints about the ceramic element not being replaceable but I’ve had mine a few years now and not damaged it but thought it worth mentioning
