Got one of the compression testers Kram linked to above, decent enough for £13. I’ve got a stihl kombi motor that runs okay - ish but I think it could do with a bit of tlc

dont think these can be trusted. My comparison is against the Husqvarna recommended one here

I did buy it primarily for the 10mm thread adaptor, as I have the Husqvarna one.
Its a shame as in some ways the quick release gauge makes it easier to use - but the small knurled head does not!
I suspect the hose is leaking at the crimp as it rotates easily, or the 14mm thread/oring as it appears the oring is getting squashed out. More testing needed. I may be sending it back.
