That's a sweet "Roofers Axe/ Hammer. normally has a Hex to round shaft in Hickory. But heart of oak does look good as well.

Head is wedged with 2 through rivet side cheeks. Brass rivet or soft steel ones will do.

Thank you. I have been googling and possibly found a pair of cheap crossovers on the bay. I'm itching to get these working so I can horrify an audiophile by having a pair 4.5K speakers in the workshop...

brightsparks one isnt easy to use the pike end makes holes but also chips away along the slate

the axe's multi function cuts slate much better

Speakers all have a + & - terminals, it doesn't matter which way round you connect them as long as all speakers are wired the same way.

Audio is 10% product and 90% installation and setup, so even mediocre speakers in great cabs will sound good

Yesterday I got a 20mm solid copper earth rod, don't need anything earthed but you don't turn down free lathe stock, especially fancy materials.
I may see if I can forge a chunk of it into a vice jaw, does that sound possible?

you may find its copper coated steel ........... check it with a magnet before you build your hopes up

These arrived today. Can get the bottom two drawers fixed in my freebee tool chest now.
Casters arrived the other day. Just need to cut some 3mm sheet up to strengthen around the caster fixings and I can rebuild it. The old casters pulled through judging by the mess on two of the holes.

Runners are rated 40kg each so more than adequate. Look a lot beefier than what was on it. May end up changing the other runners out if they will fit the smaller drawers.
