good haul, surprised they got the magnetic bowl on the plane, they're usually not allowed, something to do with affecting instruments / navigation. I wasn't allowed some welding clamps. Mind you I suppose it depends on the magnetic force.

Finally found a spare afternoon, two large drawers got new runners and casters fitted with a 3mm backing plate to strengthen. A grand total of £20 to get it into shape.

Yesterday I found this in a tool shop, it's an old chart that compares the popular imperial threads (and metric, for what use it is) in terms of TPI plus of course it gives the tapping size and clearance size drills for them too. It's double-sided so there's more of the same on the back.

Today I found this at the boot fair. A brand new hook & loop backing pad to replace the worn out one on my Bosch sander. Got it for £1 with the 3 discs included. Bargin!

I suppose I acquired this a few years ago when my father in law died, it was seriously rusting away in a tin box and I unearthed it a day or so ago.

Its cleaned up nicely and I guess he'd be pleased it didn't end up in the scrap pile. Brings back nice memories.

Went to bootsale to sell, but got a few bargins!
About 150 sheets of various grades wet and dry and emery with the new file card -£5
Biggish lug crimping tool - £2. Sykes nut splitter, 1 1/8 Q max and clamp -£2.

Old box full of car brake stuff. Length of pipe, box of new fittings, few homemade spring tools, red grease and flaring tool. Loads of gasket paper. Few other bits - £4

I got a couple of pickaxe heads and a couple of 1975 dry powder extinguishers:



The pickaxes will get a bath in an electrolysis tank, then left in the garden to rust again and I'll take the fire extinguishers onto the airfield and "strike knob hard" (Unless of course, The curator of the Wiltshire extinguisher museum tells me it's a really bad idea)
