What's the thinking behind that?

I can sort of reason with that statement, I have recently 'cleaned by electric' a few horse shoes, I was testing a different electrolyte. When I'd finished I put them back where I'd found them as I'd lost interest by the time I'd done them... the journey was more important than the destination.

Yesterday I found this in a tool shop, it's an old chart that compares the popular imperial threads (and metric, for what use it is) in terms of TPI plus of course it gives the tapping size and clearance size drills for them too. It's double-sided so there's more of the same on the back.

Today I found this at the boot fair. A brand new hook & loop backing pad to replace the worn out one on my Bosch sander. Got it for £1 with the 3 discs included. Bargin!

I acquired one of those shetack converters ages ago, still in its pouch.

It's a pity I forgot I had it when I was trying to sort out the haul of taps I bought! Some of them had lost their markings, usually the newer ones with etched writing, the older ones with stamped writing were ok! I had to measure the tpi & diameter then consult my Zeus book to work out what tap type I had.

Not sure if this counts as acquired. I've been clearing the last of the sheds out, and right at the back was a fertilizer sack with this in it.

I think its a Sutton harness, and if so, it's the first really interesting thing I've found in any of the sheds, blacksmiths tools aside.

Came from lybster, up near Caithness, and I've never seen anything like it.

Isn't it! I've been trying to find out which crashed plane it might have been um.. found near. Found lots of crash details by aircraft type, but not so much by location.

Family have mentioned a plane crash during the war and Grandad going to have a look as it was just up the road. eventually found the website in the link. I cant prove its from that plane but I cant imagine why else he would have it.

Yes, it was all chocks away and such yesterday, and then it was they sell for how much? Today its a bit wrap it all up and back in the shed with it.

Spent my school holidays up at Lybster Salmon Net Fishing when I was 15, so a few years ago
Heck of a tide there, could only really fish the nets at slack water, when the tide got going the nets were about 2m under the surface, no wonder we never caught many Salmon, did catch a 20ft basking shark though

Nice new back bench table the end parts are from the old bench gotten from a school clear out dumped in a skip it was just about 90cm I got some free shelving metal and cut the old bench welded (More stuck welded last night late could not see what I was doing)And then tonight picked up a free kitchen work surface fit nice more depth and twice as long this is where I do most of my work untill the garage is done strimmer repairs bolt together stuff and some welding

Yes yes the back is white and it will do untill tomorrow as to day round a mates house I removed a complete bedroom and skirting 1 coat of paint later a laminated floor and the replaced the skirting and then done a 2nd coat of paint and moved all the stuff back in the room came home and done this give me a break and I bet

before I got to bed will have the first coat of black on the back board

Unusual - usually the RAF cart away all the debris so there's not much to be found. Near where I used to live, hundreds of aircraft came down, just near Glossop and Kinder Scout, lots of WWII and post-war stuff too. There's still wrecks up there, but they're more like thousands of pieces of aluminium as there's not a lot left when a sabre smashes into the moor. Glossop museum has a couple of big old radial engines in it I seem to recall

It came from Hanover via a museum. But there are still lumps in crashed aircraft all over. A lot of wrecks were just left
