Today I acquired a position to become a Fire alarm engineer.
I am now back to 6 positions not filled.

My engineer who was mentioned in Post #5702 has just E mailed everyone that he is leaving.

30 minutes ago I ran the daily tracker report, his van is located in a Police station. A few phone calls found out why.

Being followed by a Police car, he was on his phone. Phone records can prove it, plus he admitted to it. When they used the "Blues and two's" he drove into a skip.

I wonder what was in the skip what would of been of use.

He has been charged already, no details as yet on what.

So, as his termination E mail was received after his "incident" was he technically employed by us?

This is going to be a admin nightmare.

UPDATE.

The office received his e mail of termination of contract 90 mins. before the incident and accepted it. He was still on his 2 weeks starting period.

So the office replied.

So he was in a vehicle, on the phone, the police filmed his erratic driving for 23 minuets before he drove into the skip.

They have charged him for driving with out due care and attention. Driving when using a mobile phone. He has bean cautioned, as he was no longer in the company employment, for driving with no insurance, driving a vehicle without owners consent.

The funny thing, when we checked his phone record and called the number it was for another company in the Fire trade, he was meant to be starting with them a week Monday.

I think not.

It was forming the side of a shed in a field nearby, I have spoken to friends about it and today it was bought up my drive folded up,the owner didn't even stop to be thanked, no idea who told the owner I liked it!

This is the level you need for a little bit of accuracy, true to 0.0005" over ten inches, Used it lots in the past, but not for a long time now.

I have a wyler precision level in it's box - I wonder what they are worth these days?

I've got a Wyler cross level somewhere, came off a "Laser alignment jig", found it in a hospital skip.

Not just BIL's, most people in general. I'll only loan decent equipment to a select few, these days. Same reason why most of my tools in my work box are just fairly cheap, modern things, where allowable for purpose. Most people are animals with tools.

Just about to lend my BIL a Sykes Pickavant puller set to get a steering wheel off a 1945 Jeep, think I'll give him the old 3 legged Cheepanese ones instead.

I use to try help people when they needed help or needed a tool to do a job. But most of the time it gets thrown back in ya face.
