sometimes yes till u use one and the fires virtually out and it runs dry and the flames start again

u must make small bondies up there5th of November
we used to make them and need ladders to get on top then had to guard them in case others from another estate torched them

Most of the time the council removes them before anyone gets a chance to light them nowadays.That used to be a common phenomenon - is it still prevalent?

Many Councils up here organise 'official' bonfires + firework displays - I suppose they're considering the safety aspect, and the Fire Brigade should have fewer call-outs.

Yes we used to build massive bonfires and they were 'massive' - taught us lots of stuff like how to ask people for things (to burn) and how to build things that didn't collapse, taught us how to defend stuff from other like minded 'gangs' ... you know, gangs meaning mates building things together working toward a goal rather than having a stupid playsuit, tattoo or dis-figuration and a knife / gun!
Of course those days are gone and its safer for everyone on the streets as a result.....
