This is some sort of garden sprayer made of riveted brass , Called "The Four Oaks" sprayer made in Sutton Coldfield should look nice with a mild polish.

Thats exactly how it was described, both the seller and I where shocked I just bid £11 thinking it would go for a lot more.
Saves me making one though.

I have a few of them but not in the house, Winchwoman is very tolerant of my collectables as long as they don't invade the house.

Today I got my clean mits on the following. I would say greasy, but more if that latter.



A nice 24" by 12" wooden rule.
That is how have it now, before it was black with years of wax. oil and dirt. (Note no greasy bits yet)

This was in a box.



Beer can for scale. It looks complete, but does need some attention. The side handle, middle centre, is spilt. I am on the lathe later. (Bit of grease, soon to be cleaned off)


My friend is on a diet, he has done very well. I try to encourage him.

I got these today, free, as packaging was defective.
Hence why no greasy mits.



I told him one had his name on it.

So to save him from temptation I ate it.

His reply was not suitable to be repeated here.
But I am sure I am an engineer.

That's how I got it.

2 hours of fun.



One new handle, turned down from a beech file handle
Old handle striped and cleaned. Both waxed.
All metal dunked into hot "Jizzer" and wire brushed.


Leading to.




Metal work in paint.

You used to be able to by jaws & springs or new chucks for those, no idea if they're still available as they've been superseded by battery drills

Took a punt on this, needs some new jaws along with a good clean, didn't know who made it until it arrived but a quick search has drawn a blank

CwazyWabbit has one, I believe. Not a common vice. Alfred Herbert was the manufacturer, if I recall correctly.

Picked this Moggy 1000 in the week, It had a bump back in the day and instead of scrapping it they put it indoors and used it for a few bits, Appart from the damage it is really solid. I have parked it up and added it to my profect list...Number 1,000,001
