Get it on the bench and mate it to the g box probs have to modify sump for x member too going to reverse engineer it and blow thru 2 inch su and do away with all the electronic guff its 230 hp but i think im happy to lose a bit

Ooh that IS a nice find. I would have paid a pretty penny for that.

Am well made up, nearly fell over myself when I saw it, had to try really hard to keep my poker face on.

I do have a couple of eBay searches that email me with new listings and peeps are asking good money for some of the Clarkson stuff.

Thanks to Rob aka @the black box I've got the bits polished and will move on the the next stage soon. I had a busy few hours.

Here is the results.

Garden Sprayer.


Polished up, new handle turned down. The internals needed to be de greased and the leather washer cleaned up. In a perfect world I would fit a new one. But I haven't as I don't have one, yet.
The old handle was beyond saving. But a few minutes on a lathe and we have a new handle.

Blow Lamp.


Cleaned up, it does work. But I had to borrow bits. So I am going to locate parts to get this one working. Another thing on the "to do list".

Davy Lamp.



Cleaned up, wick trimmed. Plus I got the spark lighter working. Came up a treat. Even Mrs TYA likes it.

Jewellers Blow torch.


The simplest of all. All it needed was a polish. Tube was removed for this image, but I have some and it certainly can tin solder.

I know it does, as I used it to re attach a lug on the sprayer, Yes I had a "oops moment" with it
But I have the tools and the means.

Today i cut up some MDF for a mate and he had a spare sheet i adopted and cut it up into 180mm lengths ready for tomorrows DIY project a media wall and shelving unit for the small bedroom.

I've deliberately been avoiding the skip at my new job apart from 5 steel tote pans and an almost new pedal bin with a broken lid which were pressed into use immediately in the garage. Notice the maintenance lad working on a pallet truck and thought nothing if it, then saw the rear wheels sticking out of the skip saying "Take me, take me"! Ball bearings and the axle shaft is long enough to cut and adapt.

Today i acquired a sealed unopened packet of Rawlplug plugging compound, the proper blue asbestos stuff.
It is now in a sealed clear plastic box. Now what do i do with it? It is an interesting curio of past times!

I’ve worked with people who used that, you were supposed to mix it with water and push it in the hole, quite a few used to chew it up and spit it in...

Had to walk the dog, had to pass a skip, had to look.

This lot was in a cardboard box.
Nit much of a find, but useful to me.
The clamps are record and look nearly new.

Can’t seem to resist these, bought two T257.300 carver clamps from a local auction for £46. One was a little bent but soon straightened it in a press.

The 5 cylinder Volvo lump is a great engine in all variants. I've had 3 T5 and they are a super tough motor. I friend of mine does trialling and he said the T5 is very common in the European challenge trucks. They do make a great noise too. The first one I had was an 850 estate T5 manual, bought it with 250K on it, properly ragged it for 60K miles(I was changing the oil every 3K) sold it with 312K and it was still running perfectly.I like the fact they look so uncluttered.
