Went to the local cash n carry and in the discount section was a nice few items, 1.75 litre cherry coke zero 6 bottles for £1 very short date so i got a few packs for the house and mates kids and spotted some Comma motor oil £4 for 5 litres and its 15w 4 mineral oil ideal for my old morris bangers..

Today I acquired a tidy Bode 500Kg welding positioner.
It’s been through the shop this morning ready for my first job for it Monday.
It’s going to divide it’s time on the rental fleet and doing demos on open root pipe welding applications.
Ive got a local client doing lots of stainless pipe for a water treatment facility and they currently TIG the lot but there is no x-ray and no procedure other than a visual from their end user so there shouldn’t be any barrier to converting them to MIG root and FCAW cap for a healthy time saving. Not that there’s any issue with MIG if there was an x-ray or procedure, it’s just harder to convert people if they have to spend hard earned cash on qualifying a new procedure.

First thing to do is to knock up an adjustable torch hand rest, then line up some pipe welding customers.

That will be no good in a Morris it is clearly marked cross flow so it must be Ford oil.

Took some more scrap to the local yard and had another mooch around to see if they had any more Clarkson bits, sadly not but came away with these for free

Found a bit more time to get some blocks down and acquired free help which was good as it was cold windy and lonely lol, Sadly weather has stopped me for now so its time to plan for lintels and doors

I hate some of you guys on here always finding stuff and also at the car boots finding gear

I cant seem to find much its same with the skips

I miss the skip hunting and car boots as i cant get there nowadays

Sad to say but I've missed car booting over the winter. Always do well on the tool front this area.

Maybe daft question time, but why have you laid the concrete blocks flat, instead of upright? Was this a building control code or loadings / structural requirement ? I would have expected them to be upright, less material for the height of wall, gained floor area and cost less. Obviously nothing wrong with it, maybe it's the type of blocks that needs to be done like that - in terms of size, just seems excessive for that type of structure to me.

Not saying it's wrong, I'm just curious as to why...
