Took some more scrap to the local yard and had another mooch around to see if they had any more Clarkson bits, sadly not but came away with these for free

Not got plans for them but I'm sure they will get used on something
I always use flat block build on double thick where no cavity is needed, Mainly for garden walls or small retainers, Its not a daft question a few people have asked why i don't just use 2 blocks side by side, I find it easier laying them flat aswellMaybe daft question time, but why have you laid the concrete blocks flat, instead of upright? Was this a building control code or loadings / structural requirement ? I would have expected them to be upright, less material for the height of wall, gained floor area and cost less. Obviously nothing wrong with it, maybe it's the type of blocks that needs to be done like that - in terms of size, just seems excessive for that type of structure to me.
Not saying it's wrong, I'm just curious as to why...

I have a mixed batch of parts for suspension exhaust timing belts, All for run of the mill older cars not much for my old bangers but there are a few wheel cylinders for BMC so i can sell/swap other bits, There are 31 water pumps sealed and boxed which will make more than i paid and a a bit spare.Free or not, it is a good find, do you know what you have yet?
Nice to know, I have a fair amount of new old stock, the new stuff does not fit well so the old stuff is probably more desirable to car owners.@Olderisbetter
If you find on the Uniparts boxes any "BL" markings, they are making a small fortune at "Auto jumbles" down this way.
The timing belts may have a use by date, just be careful. But I am sure a lot of the motoring museums would be interested.
i know what you mean i make most gaskets as i have a roll of gasket paper and just tap it round the edges, It saves using the tat i get supplied.I know what you mean about new stuff not fitting.
Last year I was helping a friend on his Moggy Minor. The thermostat had failed. The new one was a good fit and worked well.
But the gasket what came with the kit ( we took 4 back) was terrible. One was so bad, just looking at it you could see it was not worth the time fitting it.
In the end I got some gasket sheet from Frost and made my friend one.
Can you imagine the swarf
