Cleaned up, the lower one still kept the plastic covering on it's handles.
Both pliers are on their way to a new home, a friends daughter makes custom jewellery.




The 5 files, cleaned and new handles. Yes I found the missing rat tail and a wood gouge.
The top 4 files have had new handles fitted, the gouge and the lower file kept their handles. Both needed to be cleaned up, that's all.

The top 4 are, well they are planned to go to a new home.

The other 2, no new plans, for them. Yet.

A Veritas medium router plane, the missus asked what I wanted for my birthday so I told her. Birthday isn't for a few days yet but the wife and kids are going away for a few days so they gave it to me early

Full size router planes are going for silly money at the moment, especially second hand ones, I intend to make one however this router plane has the same size blade as it's bigger cousin so when I do then the blades will be interchangeable. I needed one a couple of weeks ago when fitting some T-track so this one will get my by until I get around to making a bigger one, if needed.

Good Friday i was called out by a customer to isolate and decommission a large screw compressor and cooler system.
Sitting inside main the compressor switch fuse was a nice pair of Parallel Action Sidecutter Pliers, form the dust and crud around the outside of the box i recon they have been in there for over 10 years.


One of those things i have been meaning to get for a while, the Maun stuff is top quality and still uk made.
That made up for a bank holiday spent in traffic on the M25.

Back in the 1980's Sailors in the RN were issued a set as their Sea men kit. They used to use them to "mouse" the removable hand rails on ships.

Then they all found cable ties.

I was issued with a set of them as an apprentice for the MOD (Chatham Dockyard). They were for forming brass cable clips...

Still have them, and use them every now and then.

I've had a set of the Maun sidecutters for well over 40 years. They were going great until some clot kept on using them to cut piano wire with. There's now a chip on one of the jaws, but they're still perfectly usable.
