Today I acquired...........

Today I acquired a few new new.
chunks out of my fingers.

Handle on my qctp is cast. Snapped at the 6mm thread and my hand carried on going into the chuck.
So busy cursing the mickey mouse lever I didnt notice the blood ******* out of my fingers
Ring finger knuckle skin hinged like a door and a nice slit in my middle finger

Very lucky. Could have been far worse.

You don't get many chances like that.

Indeed. Just gave it a tap to tighten it a tad more.
Luckily I had long boring bar in the holder and was a fair way from the chuck.
That said. Standard tool and would have pulled towards my body.

Nope. Need to buy a decent qctp.
if it wasn't cast id have bent it.
Spent my working life using dangerous tools. Very aware of the dangers.
Decent toolpost on my to buy list now.

Not acquired today, more like acquired over many weeks of fitting it in around other work but the new workshop is nearing completion. It has power, light and tools.
Benches, storage and vice location are yet to be decided upon but it’s almost workable now. The store room is very much the same, a marriage of two 20 foot containers. I won’t post any pics of that as it’s full of my machines and would look like an advert but the workshop is just a place to repair and test so hopefully the pics stay up.

What does the yellow box on the wall do?
I presume 3ph volt/amp per phase with a contactor for control and volt/amp display welding set Dc via the front sockets.
Looks like a nice working space.

That’s pretty much it, I can also turn the power on an off remotely from a pendant switch if I need to be in and out of a machine under test and don’t want to have to keep plugging machines in and out.
The diner sockets are for connecting a machine via a load bank so I can see the amps/volts ac on the primary and ac or dc on the secondary side and see if all is as it should be.

I would suggest you get some steri strips, they will hold the flaps in place until they start to heal but will still allow your fingers to bend. You should really go to casualty but I'm guessing you can't be bothered.

A&E will only do the same, so less hassle to do it himself.

I did and I have. The glue and strips held for an hour. Wife was flapping and looked worse when ******* blood everywhere. Thankfully in snd out if a and e in a hour. Felt guilty being there tbh obce the bleeding had stopped

One hour for A&E. That must be a record. That glue they use is crap stuff. Even when it sticks, it retards healing. Ended up picking all of mine off so that the cut could heal more quickly.

Indeed. Was lucky. Wife dropped me off and took the kids to burger king dor dinner. Id just walked out as she returned.
