A nice set of steps since there unsafe for work..they told me to sling them, so i did in boot of my car, just need some poprivets for a support and way to sort out the split in the leg since i havent access to ally weld.

You should be aware that most if not all aluminium ladders cannot be welded or you risk weakening their structural integrity and hiding that weakness. Ideally each part should be perfectly straight and square etc. They really should be pop riveted and for a repair, use a steel plate as has been suggested or I have had a lot of success by fitting wooden blocks (where feet are missing for example).

Last week I noticed my farm supplies place was clearing out their old storage bins, so today I was told I could have some.
Fairly decent Link51 bins, not new (this is a file picture) but nothing wrong with them.
I need to root around some more and find out if they've scrapped the supporting racks for them.

Record 044c plough plane, no cutters but only £2!

3 hydraulic hoses, £5. The bottom hose has 2 bullnose gas fittings fitted for decanting gas between drums.

4m of 40 x 38 t-rail £5 & 2.5m of 50 x 20 flat bar £7.

There were tabs welded to the t-rail, not very well as you can see. There was no penetration on the t-rail at all!

I sold the trailer tent last weekend for the price I wanted so apart from the Wadkin bandsaw that needs a touch of TLC, I treated myself to a new cordless hammer drill/driver

It's amazing how they have come on, here it is next to my old Makita 8444, which is still going strong. The Milwaukee M12 FPDX brushless Fuel is much more compact, lighter, twice the battery capacity and similar torque. The chuck is quick release and it comes with a standard chuck, an offset and right angle chuck and you can put a hex bit direct into the spindle. My Makitas have been relegated to the downstairs barn. Nothing wrong with them except sometimes reluctant to change gear or get out of hammer, they were always like that and they are on ebay special batteries now.

To placate the missus I bought her a Milwaukee a small Bluetooth speaker for camping and gardening, not a bad sound for the size.

And I picked up the band saw today, its bigger than I thought. It was missing the lower guide and has an after market fence that needs a bit of attention but I don't mind that, it was cheapish and near by. we had it running before I took it home and it ran as sweet as a nut. Bearing sound good, foot brake works but needs adjusting a little. I have bought an after market roller guide set from Axminster, the lower guide will go on this, the upper on the Startrite. It will need a bit of fabrication to get it to go on this but should fit. I also bought a M42 cobalt blade for it from Tuffsaws. I will be cutting up oak with lots of bark on it, and who know's. maybe the occasional staple.

Expensive couple of days but that is it now, until the next time.....

The Mamod Steam Wagon has an issue, the fly wheel fell off.

I know that's not the correct thread, but I had a M3 grub screw. It is out of sight and when painted will be hard to spot.

Have you tried to find a 5/32 BSW whit grub or set screw on a Friday?

Have you tried to find a 5/32 BSW whit grub or set screw on a Friday?

Have boxes full of random old screws and bolts. Been a godsend with am old english lathe.
Pretty sure I have an identical handle in the drawer siezed up. Must sort it out sometime

I have box's of odd screws and I am sure there will be one in there, but.

The blade was re-sharpened.
The handle was sanded to remove the old varnish and muck.
Metal work given a polish.
