We used to throw the telephone out the window, it was fixed to the wall and the coiled cable was springy as hell! If you got it right you could fire the handset through an open window downstairs and the person would get one hell of a shock (or even better a slap) from a random flying phone which left the room as fast as it entered!

My friend loved to do this to the lad downstairs, who responded by hurling hummus at the upstairs window. Who knew hummus bonds to glass like glue, it was there for months...

I couldn't tell you, I was handed a load of broken bits by a red-faced flatmate. I somehow doubt it was a scented candle though.

A decent garden water feeder, but the container for the feed was cracked. A look online and it was cheeper to buy new than get a replacement.

Getting home and rummage in the recycling bin and behold.

Metal fixings de-rusted. The sad part was 4 out of 12 fixings for the metal casters had to be cut off.
But I did find some suitable replacements. Sadly Metric, the originals were imperial.

The wood was washed, gently cleaned with wax remover. Then a good rub with bee's wax, made from a local hive. Care of the Bee Man Ken at Men In Sheds.

They were in the bin. Top of the quick grip is a bit knackered, but I will machine a new fitting, easy fix. The tripod is very nice and in good nick.

Had a voucher gathering dust so thought I would try Axminsters own brand clamps, very nice quality and about on a par with the Bessey and Festool (same clamps) I have. This has the fixture adapter which looks to be very effective. Looking at it, its an adapter with the clamps shaft gripped in it, I'd be interested if anyone knows if you can obtain that kind of extrusion, could make my own longer versions then.

I make the same sort of clamp for my holey bench (20mm holes in a grid).
But I just cut off the end of 1.99 home bargains f-clamps, and weld a piece of 3/4" (19mm) OD pipe on.

I built mine "ron paulk" style. Torsion box with cut-outs to make storage areas inside.
15mm is a little flimsy.
12mm would DEFINITELY need more ribs.

A 20" throat Wadkin BZB bandsaw off the bay of fleas. I pick it up at the weekend, it was cheapish, more importantly close as I'm still relying on friends for transport (license is due anytime now - I hope!!)

its a wee Wadkin at only 300kg. I want it to resaw the trees I've had planked down in the barn before I send them up to the workshop for making into the new kitchen and other bits of furniture. As it is a little Wadkin, it may replace my Startrite at some point, its still got a 6" bigger throat than the startrite, I'll get it and see. I fancy a Wadkin DR in the barn eventually but they are really big, even the smallest versions, but look lovely properly restored, and work very well by all accounts.

For now I want something a bit more portable as I'm still reorganising the barn to fit in a proper bar. I just got rid of my mates bale wrapper and hay tedder yesterday, they have been in the barn for 2 years so I have a quarter of the barn back
