I was in one of those once. The audience loved my line but the organisers didn’t see the funny side...

Just on the off chance Machine mart were pricing their spares sensibly I asked for a price on a handle and a little block thats missing. They quoted twice on the block, £5.75 and £7.10 and didnt price the handle so to clarify I sent them this pic and asked for everything not in the pic. They've quoted again, this time £12.10 for the block and £12.60 for the extension arm, but still no price on the arm. looks like I'm making it then..

Oh aye, just like the spares for my bar bender! Think I was quoted $100 for the handle alone. It took me all of $7 to buy a length of 40x10 bar, a little fettling on the grinder and two 10mm holes. An absolute joke, even if I charged town prices of $45/hr for the time it took (which was about twenty minutes) that’s still well under.

Mine last a very long time, the trick is to use torx instead.
