Today I found for $2, a 10” file by Viiala of Finland. Couldn’t find much about them online but Finnish steel is usually very good. Teeth feel sharp, another one for the shop

Got hold of these today from a college that's getting demolished. They'll come in very handy for exhaust fume extraction in the workshop when I'm tuning up the bikes, might be able to slavage the bigger one to go over the welding bench I'm hoping to build!

It’s criminal what they chuck out. I got a six channel mic mixer and a wireless mic receiver, both still for sale commercially at $240 and $700 respectively. Both in the skip. Now, I’m not sure what I’ll do with them, but I could just flip them for a fraction of the cost and see if they earn me anything!

I have something similar, only it was fitted with the rubbishy pneumatic tyres, that always had a slow leak in one or the other. After a while I got sick of it and welded a length of 1" bar across, directly seamed to the old axle, and fitted a nice pair of solid-tyred, ball-bearinged wheels that run directly on the bar. It's totally transformed what was a fairly nondescript cheapo sack truck into something that's now a pleasure to use.

If you're running Windies, try Coretemp and be surprised how warm that octocore can get. For years I've fitted an auxiliary input fan to the side casing, blowing directly onto the processor fan and putting the case under positive pressure - which helps to blow cooling air out around the hard drives, too. There's a drop of about 5 degrees on the processor with the fan on. Even now, doing nothing special, the AMD 8120 is sitting at 51degC, and when it's number crunching it's knocking on 60degC. That's sitting at 3.2GHz; I don't bother running it faster, as there's no need for what I use it for, and it would just get hotter.
After years of using whatever motor I had, or buying crappy old compressors dirt cheap in the hope that the motor would be usable, I have finally bought the right motor. Brand new. It goes against the grain a bit but overall I think this is a good thing.

I have the same cpu, what motherboard is it? Ive had it running 5ghz a core and it never went over 40 deg with water cooling

Your people are too small to populate this truck, you need some of these fellas.
Must admit whilst I’m not much of a fan of Lego anymore (despite being crazy about it aged 8) Technics has always held appeal. I got the monster 10 pump backhoe when I was 15 which is now rare, has a little crank engine and diff, steering rack and the challenge of controlling all the airflow. Terrific fun if you can dedicate the two hours it takes to assemble it.
