Stripped cleaned and oiled. In pretty good nick all said.
Qr works faultlessly and the screw and halfnut are immaculate.
Got my wife well trained.

Will be making new jaws at some point.

When I was a gunsmith we had an iron mould that we used to cast soft lead jaws for our vices. The casting fit over the top of the jaw, and was beaten in place with a hammer, we replaced them every week or two. We used old blacksmith's leg vices.

Il machine up some extra new ones slightly bigger with a rebate towards the rear so I can dress some copper around them.

Be careful if you do that, I put washers behind the jaws on mine and dressed copper around it. Once the copper had worked it's way out a clumsy hammer blow cracked the corner of my No.6

The rebate will be on the jaws themselves Jaws will still be fitted tight

A 50m roll of P150 115mm wide emery cloth. It is good quality, very flexible & lasts for ages - I'm still trying to wear out my first piece! I'd be scared to ask what it would cost to buy, certainly a lot more than the £10 I paid!

Some 3" & 6" velcro discs & 7" fibre sanding discs, grinding wheels & a wire brush. Not cheap at £12 but there is at least £20 of sanding discs alone!

Bottles of teak & linseed oil - £2 each!

A very nice vintage Rabone 1412 spirit level, all vials intact & working. Wouldn't like to be using it every day as it is quite heavy! Bargain at £4!

These transformers are 240 to 24/48v, 400va & are very heavy!

The little grooved cover to the right of the screen - slide it to the right. That's where all the batteries have been found on all the digital calipers I've ever had.

Not on this one.
I have removed 4 screws 2 top 2 bottom then prised the cover of revealing 2 batteries which I have replaced but it still doesn't work right. One for the bin.

It may be suffering from damp conditions. Try putting it somewhere slightly warm for a few days. Or in a bag of of uncooked rice.

Putting an old work bench in the metal skip and nabbed these before the dump Nazi saw me taking stuff.
Footprint chisle, CK 1/2" extension bar 16 & 17mm ratchet spanner no brand.
3/8" extension bar with plug socket looks like a nut driver that may fit Jubilee clips.

This morning's car boot haul. I actually got some bargains today, it's usually slim pickings round here. The car boot sales up north seem much better for decent tools.

MT2 & MT3 Jacobs chucks, £1 each
Baty clocks, £1 each

The chap who sold me the chucks said he'd just given away a whole load of lathe tooling. I should've got there earlier. Gutted.

How does a T stack compare with a Systainer?

Currently using Macpaks
Made by tanos and identical to the original systainer festool used to ship with. Have a couple of the newer systainers too with the 1 locking point.

Tstacks are a lot more rigid and harder wearing. If I dropped a macpak it would break and dont risk standing on them for the same reason.
Il continue with both systems as im collecting up 18v dewalt gear atm
