I remember when they first came out i had the early Parallel Port version for a while, its still kicking around somewhere.

Thinking back so did I, I downloaded a version of Slackware at college and had to edit the source code of a kernel so I could boot from floppy then load the os from the Zip drive

Don't want to burst your bubble, but that's the exact set I had when I learned to play so not worth much now. Mind you, I am getting on a bit....

Went car booting this morning, first time in a very long time

Been on the hunt for some blue handled Marples chisels for a while. They are for a special project I’ve got in mind

This is what I got, cost 50 pence

Can anyone get thier hands on 3/4”. 1/2” and 1/4” chisels. The blades must be beveled as in the pictures. Beer tokens awaiting

I’ve got plenty of chisels for abusing

I want a whole set of Marples so I can make a set of custom handles like this

My cousin is a carpenter, he liked the chisel so I gave it away. I know want my own ones

Stick a rubber or leather "O" ring between the shoulder and the handle on the tang. It will help with the loading on the chisel.

This a typical donation we get, a mixed box of odd tools. That was yesterday, so today I had to sort it out.



2 drills and a Hot air paint stripper.



2 planes, grease gun, drills, saws and pop riveter.



Saws, a selection of hammers, breast drill and a box of plasters.


Plans are already afoot for them.

4 hours later and ive got more room with an extra lathe in there than I did before.

Motor sounds spot on.
Strip the paint and service and clean all parts and shes good to go.

Depends how it is set up but maybe a spring pushing up on the locking plate underside may be all that is required, the pressure could be adjusted via the hand wheel.

Easy enough to test.
Il wait until ive stripped the paint. Picasso painted half the machined surfaces on the lathe white so will bind.
Think it should have a sprung assembly anyway. Missing the plate. Chap had been screwing the nut down to the underside ways. Thankfully no damage.

That orange B&D is the twin brother of one of mine. Had it for about 40 years so they are capable of lasting a while.

4 hours later and ive got more room with an extra lathe in there than I did before.

When I saw the first pic I thought you'd got an AGA.

You only asked for beveled chisels.
