Today I acquired the edge trim for the trolley, fits well and does exactly what it is meant to. One problem is the tray is now too wide so I will have to chop the ends off and weld new ones in a few mm.

I have a model J "perfect"

paid a tenner for it, out of my paper round money when I was about 14!

<edit> turns out I also have a Parkinson's "perfect" woodworking vice as well.

He is in the huff as we have to keep him caged for a month and all he wants to do is wander about. I have to be careful not to say work or shop or worse both together as he jumps up with a gleam in his eyes.

Today I acquired, via a new- item purchase for a change; a reasonably priced die holder.

How about a small battery operated disc cutter on a pole, with a couple of friends holding an old blanket to catch the lamp ? Not kidding.

I've cut a few things high up whilst standing on the ground besides 12 " tree branches .

You can buy thin round metal cutting hacksaws that you use pull cords & toggles to pull them back & forth .
Just don't get the angle too acute or use too much force or they'll tend to bind & snap in the cut ( A long stick can free them off ) .
The lasso idea is workable too ,using a long rod put it on before you start to cut and have it so that the wire / rope runs over a beam so when you make the final cut it will tend to swing in an arc rather than fall onto you

Another way is to get hold of the one handed hacksaw blade holders and make a clamp to put it on some aluminium tubes or wooden broom sticks that you can pin together to make the length required . Put the blade in the holder so it cuts on the down stroke and cut either side of the holders stem . The tiny Tee at the top will stop it slipping out . Take a slack handful of flexible bi-metalic 12 inch blades as they don't snap as much as the higher quality blades if abused .

eLuSIVeMiTe, your mod will almost certainly vape a lot more than these.
I first got a pipe one about 8 years ago but couldn't do any maintenance on it, these are much better. They also take any old cart from the shops(pic)
Years ago I converted some pipes; fitted those cheap ecigs but

as you can imagine they didn't vape too good or for too long : )

I had a go on a massive in a local shop, my workmate had already choked on it, the bore of about 6mm blew clean off, so did my head; whole shop laughing.
Told my wife it was like the Rasta man's car in Predator 2 !!
Edit: had a pipe since 2001 and used to use Dunhill early morning pipe tobacco.

It is similar but the one I got has a kind of white plastic rib inside, seems to grip really well.
