ordered myself a pair in brown last week.
grade 1 2nd hand, but look almost new.
£27.

they arrived today.

had them on 2 hours now, and feel like I'm wearing slippers!

honestly say, probably the best pair of boots I've had for years, if ever!

bought them to get in training - going to do some long distance footpaths (woldsway, dales way, coast to coast), over next 12 months, culminating in Pennine way this time next year. then the south west coast path the following year.

He's referring to the Altberg army boots I'd recommended here several months ago; eBay is your friend - loads available both new and used. They only come in whole sizes and use a spacer if you're between. I've never paid more than £60 or so for a new pair.

Today I acquired theses I only went for the tourq wrench and a few loose sockets but they expensive in singles

Think I'm going to give Altberg boots a try for general wandering about and dog walking duties.

Used to use the older style leather army boots for most things and always got on well with them.

It'll save wearing my good Meindl walking boots out too soon

Always been a lowa man myself but could be tempted by some altbergs next time

It is more cosmetic than for use but it it may come in useful for lifting items from the trailer.
