Always wanted one dont know why.....when I heard about it, was hoping it had the old cast ornate legs....but same as the one in the picture.
Do i replace the top with metal and have me a tilting tabe in the shed, or refinish the top, clean it up and use it.....

your no better than me so, i never knew why i wanted one either but i bought a modern enough one at an auction 18mths ago, id say i gave more for it than you did yours, someone else at the auction must of had the same want about them.
mine cost me £120.
its sat in a shed in storage since.
some day i keep telling myself.

I paid 40 quid....if it had had the ornate cast legs, it would be sat opposite the antique sewing machine i rescued as a feature. There are two of us live in a 4 bed house, so i shall have it in the short term next to my desk, sat looking out of the bay window in my spare room, she has suggested it would be better in her spare room.......we shall see.

I know an old draughtsman, long retired & he said the skilled part was learning to sleep at the board with you eyes open & the pencil just twitching.

We live on a small holding for therapy, and sanity maintenance. Though i do draw everything im going to machine, saves me making an **** and only takes a few minutes. Though i do cheat using a 3 graph paper . Full size if possible....

dont worry, im the same, id have you tube on stand by when id be drawing something.
altho a lot of the time id just draw something out roughly in a book for reference and the rest of the time id be like spark plug without the tea.
i needed to draw out something on it the other night, i found it handy as i wanted to place a few items as close as possible together on a round plate, its handy for that altho not as fast as on paper but more accurate for a job like that.

Im old, and find a pencil works when you have oily hands and the power is off! I have used autocad in the past, but takes me too long....
Im a big fan of squared paper, the house rebuild, the kitchen design, both bathrooms, my shed, animal sheds, the green house and garden layout, have all been designed with the same pencil. Works for everthing quite well.
And if i was still botheed enough to play golf could also be used to fill in the score card!

Today I acquired this for £20 as a bit of a project - been lying unused but engine is not seized and the rest looks in decent enough nick, close enough to collect too [which is nice 
]
Having been a Greenkeeper, should be easy enough to refurb and set up.
