St. Albans, bedford, ampthill and half the other places I work are full of small streets with next to no parking. Bad enough trying to find a space big enough for a lwb ht
Then there's cull de sacs. A trailer big enough for my needs isn't gonna undertake a 3 point turn easily and would be unhitched to turn.
Your speed limits are a bit wooly tbh.
No way your keeping up with my fully loaded van towing a trailer with the same load and cog down the twisty backlanes.
Tbh no way you'd keep up bombing across Milton Keynes with its wide dual carriageways and roundabouts.
Lost earnings. Well. I'm down a day this week. Acceptable as I got my tax return finished and closed my ltd company down. Productive day off. Also caught up on a load of quotes.

Weighed this in with a bit of old copper pipe yesterday.
Not bad.
I asked the man to weigh the truck (Toyota Surf) while on the weighbridge and it came out at 2 tons with an empty fuel tank but the wife in the passenger seat......

Sound advice,I photocopy and keep a file on all this type thing especially stuff like alternators and starters. Dont seem to last and a year down the road its a job to remember where it came from.

Oh yes! The big Union grinder! The largest they did I think. I have the 12” version, lots of similarities. The plaque under the Union casting will have a stamped number and that’s the serial. The end grilles are aluminium. Proper machinery made in Heckmondwike!

There should be plates on the backs of the wheel down the bottom so grinding dust and clag don’t go flying out into the workshop. You can see where they’re meant to go. They wouldn’t be hard to make from sheet metal.

I have the same grinder although mine was clogged solid when I got it, it was that bad that the wheels had a groove in them where the solidified grindings were scraping against it. I had to take a Kango hammer to the grindings to clear out the channel/tunnel from below the wheels to out the back. The rests on mine were also broken and as is typical they are still not sorted

The drill is a semi known item, as I acquired it from my sons place of work being as everything is now done by CNC machine it was surplus to their requirements.
The grinder was an Ebay gamble, apparently it has an intermittent latching on problem with the starter buttons/switch, seller recommended a new starter switch assembly be installed, we shall see.
Anybody/Sparkies have ideas/input on this problem?
In the worst case scenario it'll get a 3hp or 4hp single phase motor fitted.
The drill should just need wiring in and some handles fitting, the grinder will need looking at plus a clean/paint possbly (yet another project).

As an added bonus/side effect and annoying issue has vanished.
When pulling out of junctions I'd have to clutch and give a little throttle or I'd limp out of junctions with little power until revs built.
Now vanished so would assume issue with throttle sensor connecting through the uch.
Now revs to 4000 rpm rather than running out of puff at 3.5
