Yes they are part of Group Schneider now, same stuff, just rebranded so still fits

2 pairs of brand new Wiss snips from my local Homebase which was shutting down. I didn’t actually go to Homebase I was waiting to collect an eBay parcel from Argos before it opened and noticed the closing down sign.

£10 for the red handles pair and £7 for the green ones which I thought wasn’t bad

Went to scrappies today with some copper from the old boiler setup. £50 into the bank and while there spied a rather nice vice tucked away in a corner. Made enquiries as to its status and for £10 into his back pocket came away with this. No mug for scale but the concrete blocks in first picture are 100mm cubes. The best bit? its fully functional and only has minor cosmetic defects.

Lovely Italian precision high speed drill. 18000rpm takes up to 4mm. Bigger than I thought weighs 35kg.
Bloke did a lovely palletising job so I sent him an extra tenner .

I have no idea what I’m gonna do with it, but reassembly will be the obvious move. A supercharged trike appeals, but I have to finish my hot rod first. Don’t I?

A little trick for Chevy starters. If the solenoid starts to fail, remove the copper bolt connected to the battery and flip the contacts over 180 degrees in their square sockets; this will provide you with a new solenoid for all practical purposes. I discovered this solution years ago when I was unable to get my truck started when we were camping out in the Mojave desert.

Suspiciously similar to my Herbert B high speed drill, could you take a picture of the pulley arrangement? The original is missing from mine and I've never seen how it's supposed to look.

schneider electric sponsored a brisca f1 stockcar world final at hendnesford hills raceway in the early 2000s? , I remember some of it .
They had some girls going around the track in a tank with a T-shirt cannon ,I caught mine knocked the guy who was actually in line for it 10 yards or So

Mine is very basic - just one front pulley and one rear - they are totally flat so it uses a flat belt.

Yes, I have stripped and cleaned a couple of Chevy starters in the past, solved problems with a good clean and refinishing of the contacts.

I’ve also upset some people on Chevy forums when they roll out the “fit a Ford remote starter solenoid away from the motor to avoid heat soak”. None of them, and there are hundreds, seem to realise that you still use the Chevy solenoid in the starter even with the remote ford solenoid fastened elsewhere. Not a single one could explain the logic.

I pointed out you could rearrange the wires to bypass the Chebby solenoid...but not a single person responded to that.

A good friend of mine had an old Ford Mercury pickup with a chavvy V8. Used it for drag racing. About 800bhp at the wheels. It had a clear distributor cap looked cool. Sounded awesome as well with straight through exhausts.

I was of course joking when I suggested that 15" speaker was going to be paired with my Sonos, the only way to improve it is "Buy more Sonos products".



A pair of 6" Wharfedale drivers appeared today.

It's just a project to play around with, I'm not expecting great sound quality.
