I was of course joking when I suggested that 15" speaker was going to be paired with my Sonos, the only way to improve it is "Buy more Sonos products".

A pair of 6" Wharfedale drivers appeared today.

It's just a project to play around with, I'm not expecting great sound quality.

Are you going to build a box for them? Don't dismiss the Wharfedales either, I have a pair of diamond 9.1's on book shelves with an old marantz amp sourcing music through a beresford dac, it sounds fantastic, I doubt you could do better for under a grand in a blind test.

I will be building some kind of cabinet but I haven't decided exactly what yet. My initial idea was the three drivers I've got + a pair of tweeters, active crossover* and seperate amps all in one big heavy box as a 2.1 stereo kind of arrangement but now I'm leaning more towards seperate left, right and sub boxes as it could be slowly expanded into a surround sound set up. Very early stages so far, it's really going to depend on what comes up on eBay for prices I like.

*As I said, it's something to play with, an active crossover is just more dials to turn. I might even go for a miniDSP, unlimited dials for the fiddling!

Got these put in the back of my van I bought these at an auction why i don't know so you might have a use for them was the conversation. I assume they are a cutting disc diamond on some sort of resin disc. Any ideas out there please. I need to know don't fancy one exploding with me using it on the incorrect application googled the numbers and got nowhere lol

I concur. Had a precursor to the diamonds years back. Top sound quality and amazing bass from a 4inch cone.

A nice selection of Gedore, King Dick, Britool and Bedford spanners in both m/m and AF. Plus a nice ‘made in England’ imperial set square.

The long series Stanley screwdriver was a freebie from the nice guy who served me.

Picked up 2 of these die grinder bits in lidl today.

I looked at them, but there was a speed rating on them & my die grinder goes flat out or nothing.

Yeah they're only rated to 4500rpm. I'll give them a try and see what they're like. When I bought the air grinder in lidl it came with some grinding stones so I chucked one in my 70,000rpm grinder to see what would happen, it exploded

A leg vice! I've been after one for a couple of years but they were always over priced or miles away.
This came up on fleabay in Watford.

Fair sized old thing and seized solid so I've soaked it in Plusgas and will have a look on the weekend to see if its shifted anything.
Does anyone know the makers name or age of these vices?

I've finally managed to get hold of a box of stuff that was being scrapped back in August, the bloke who signs it off should go in for the hide and seek world championships. First off is an ESAB Gas Axe, nothing wrong with it, just no packaging, the same goes for everything else. A Facom Dela 1257 engineers square, a Facom 985957 Wire stripper, a Facom 985548 4 square wrench, a box of Norton Vulcan s/s 125mm cutting discs, a set of 6 diamond files, a roll of 40mm 180 grit emery cloth, about 50 sheets of 3M 400 grit emery paper, a couple of other little bits.

When I worked offshore we were not allowed to take anything that the company scrapped. I once saw several Yanmar diesel outboards in a scrap bin, still fully functional just not new enough to send out to a ship. They refused to let me have one of them.

Four 15 x 15 alloy Centreline wheels, with drag slicks, used for a cable roller system, ship was derigged and they went in the scrap.

Went out on a mission to round up some pallets to build a 3 m x 2.4 m shed, found a giant packing crate about 3 m cube , from a China import machinery company, 6 mm ply, and huge beams about 200 mm square inside, they practically begged me to take it away

Its basically a shed in one hit.

I've got all the heavy timbers back to base and am going back later for the ply. Probably enough left over for a big log store as well.

Sad news is I've got to buy a bag of nails to build it.

I wounder what would happen if I mentioned I need wooden wedges and steel wedges.
