Acquired the remains of a 200m roll of 6mm2 cable. Can now transport bigger sparks from the house to the garage . AC/DC tigwelder will be happy

Bingo! Have an old Record No.6 vice that needs a home; picked it up for only £30 or so several years ago but have yet to do anything with it.

Not today, but yesterday. A three legged puller with a stripped spider, a blowgun with a non 1/4" BSP thread, a chuck guard from a Meddings pillar drill and a 12v/24v charger/booster/start cart.
The puller might be resurrectable with parts from a scissor jack, the blowgun with an adaptor nipple and I reckon the reason the start cart was tripping the breaker is the 12V + connection was as loose as a loose thing. The 24V one was barely worn so they've been swapped.
I only went for a tyre I'd ordered, and I didn't even get that as they had a brand new one of the right size on a wheel kicking about and getting in the way. Probably came off an old ambulance.

I uncovered this "Blast from the past" yesterday in a charity shop.
They are unable to sell it as it is untested.
I suspect there are some members you reminisce this from the Mid 80's.
As it was when I got it back.
All complete, almost unused. Just missing the chuck key, for the chuck fitted.
There is a 13mm-1/2" chuck included.
All sorted out, tested and the rubbish removed. All and ready to be used. I am donating it to Men In Shed.
They are unable to sell it as it is untested.

Advertised as an IBP saddle joint Clive
, it popped up on the bottom of an ebay search page while looking for something else. Up to now I have always used the mill for notching which can get a bit tight in a 12x12 machine room , this thing can grow some wheels and will be a lot more mobile/accessible

almost a complete waste of time at the carboot this morning
got a couple of very rusty "visegrip" brand welding clamps - now in the pickling tank. (50p each)
an adjustable height barstool to use as a welding seat.(£3)
and this:
not sure what its made of - its almost pewter like, or a hard lead alloy. but not like lead soldiers are made from.
possibly zinc

Dewsbury market and the Rams Stadium.
The airport is the opposite side of leeds - 45minutes each way and tbe best part of a tenner in petrol, so not worth tbe drive in cold weather in my experience.

One near me is very hit and miss, one bloke has a Moore and Wright 1" micrometer with a £50 label on it, I've seen it every time I've been for the last 3 years

I had a fantastic day yesterday and today at c Car Boot and a house clearance shop, not that I am going to boast right now.

I am not.
I am going to warm up and enjoy this bacon, sausages and BBQ French stick.

I am now warm and cosy.
Shame to workshop is not. Heater has become like the Norwegian Blue. It is an Ex heater.
So what has TYA Liberation Front acquired.
A Box.
A Tenon saw, two carving chisels and 2 mystery tools.
All rusty but the saw is sharp and looks like the teeth are still set.
The best of the Rasps, the other 7 were beyond repair. Plus a small Dove tail saw. Same condition as the Tenon saw.
The rasp did have handles, but were shot with worm and damaged, so now are burning nicely.
Little plane, but has a scratch blade fitted. Would of been used for lamination wood work.
Mitre Clamp and a damp meter.
Finally, from the House clearance shop.
A small wooden plane, selection of bit and brace bits, sharp, but rusty. A Big square and to Marking gauges.
All the tools are in need of TLC, but are in good condition.
The shop told me they cleared out a house of a old man, the family did not want anything. So he has moved it on and the tools were what was left. I understand he may have more in the warehouse, as yet unsorted.

Todays car boot was cold and quiet. The food vans were the only ones doing any real business.
My friend did acquire some nice paints and some decent canvas to match. Plus a nice set of silver spoons.
What did I get?
Cold.
But.
I did part with some £££ on a box of assorted tools. It was a decent size plastic box. Great for de-rusting.
A Odd peculiar double bladed wooden plane. One wedge needs to be replaced. No idea what it is for, yet.
A BIG gauge, dead.
Handle is shot through with wood worm and the blade rusted and chipped. It is also very heavy.
But it was this set off wooden clamps.
I had the big brother, now I have 2 smaller ones.
All the tools in this post and the one above will be restored, used and what is no good to me will de donated to organisations I am involved in.
The planes I will teach some one to sharpen the blades and set them up.
The saws, drills will be brought back to life in another TYA class in MIS.
The clamps, marking gauges will be cleaned up and we will see where that leads me.
