I hate microbore i just fixed a leak in a 12mm pipe which had a kink in it just under the screeded floor

Pipe. I am in the process of removing the microbore and doing it properly. If they wanted to fit bendy pipe and cover it in trunking, they should have been electricians..

dont mean they dont i see plenty of them with a stand in the high street and people actualy move far out there way to not have to speak to them and they still trap them between them and a shop front untill they say no thanks
i must look ruff as most dont even see im there

Not today but yesterday father saved from the scrap yard a little press its a pilot press only pushes about 5 tons foot operated works a treat, plug an all. I am always amazed what people weigh in, I dont know what to do with it yet but at 30 smackeroonies I will think of something

Best laugh I had in a long time was last year when my Wife and I were on holiday. We were walking with a group of friends towards the beach when a scraggly looking person sitting on the sidewalk held out a Pringles can with coins in it and shook it in our direction. One of the jokers in our group said to the person, " no thanks I already had breakfast "; to which he received a two finger reply. Needless to say, no one could contain themselves from busting out laughing. A couple hours later we saw the same person, pretending to be down and out, talking on an I phone.

That's two or three month's worth of homemade vanilla ice cream. Much nicer than most storebought ice cream and works out to something like two pounds a litre so well below anything branded. Usually pour a shot of espresso over it.

You mean Fred, Not his real name but yes he was there for at least 3 decades and quite a few people kept an eye on him a friend of mine used to live close by and said the local Indian temple used to take him food a lot, I think he was a WW2 veteran so maybe something happened to make him want to be away from society.

First the wife acquired her first Valentines day present, 2 tonnes of well rotted horse poo. My neighbour's driving the bobcat as he can do scary things with them that I daren't, yet. The muck was at the top of a steep ramp, and not enough space to spin around at the top. OK coming down with a full bucket but going up with the empty bucket pointing skywards isn't my cup of tea

Her second present was a chipper, she's currently coppicing our woods and wanted lots of mulch for her various veg beds and polytunnel plus I'm sick of tripping over prunings. This is where I picked it up from, it was difficult to get it on my mates plant trailer on my own as the bars that the ramps slide on are bent so they are fixed at their widest, but I summoned my 3 shredded wheat strength and got it on.

And finally, something for me, I mentioned I wanted another bench in the workshop for the mitre saw, so my neighbour gave me this steel framed bench. Its about 2.6m long, and best of all its quite low, I shall be replacing the top and insetting the mitre saw into it which will raise the finished level from 750 to 900mm so the perfect height.

I regretted every putting composted horse/stable muck on my gardens , it was full of weed seeds from the hay being used and the fact that seeds don't get killed inside a hose . .. Learnt my lesson well ,now I only used dung & straw based bedding from ruminants usually cows & steers as the multiple digestion kills off nearly all weed seeds & the straw does not have many seeds in it.
When I set my chop saw up on a long 10 foot bench I made 4 simple ladders covered in hard board, two to fit either side of the bench each about two feet long so the wood I was cutting ( 1600 feet to make a substantial fence of 24 bespoke panels with a diagonal lattice using treated roof batons for the top 500 mm ) was always on the same plane as the chop saw table ….it saved me making silly mistakes .
When it was not in use the platforms were slid under the bench & the saw to one end out the way
They were held in place with screw down handled F clamps … that also made it easy to put a length of baton across the bench top to get the exact repeat lengths .

I love microbore … it got me a fully modernised ,renovated & fully rewired three double bedroomed bungalow all for £ 90 insurance premium and £ the first £500 of the insurance claim and £ 3,060 of my own money for a few" minor " extras .
Mr Nearly ( never did a good job or finished one by the look of things ) who the previous owner of this place moved a microbore fed rad in the bath room and turned the olive into an oval , then boxed the pipework in before casting a wet room floor in a wooded frame over the whole bathroom floor . Almost 4 years later when the whole floor slab had filled with water and seeped five feet up the walls we moved out for a year whilst the insurers took off all the plaster and floor tiles then tried to dry the place out .
Evidently it was a simple drip drip , almost filling a mug a minute but when the central heating came on it was like a tap being turned on ..no wonder it filled the foundations over time and then entered & filled the whole floor slab .
Total insurance claim ended up tipping £60,000 which included :- renting another bungalow the same size with gas heating and travel claims to & from the junior school where our kiddy was schooled for a year & a months hotel costs , all our clothes , electrical equipment ,bedding , carpets t etc.
The fault decided to announce itself one hot sunny Easter weekend whilst we were away with my family in Leominster . When we came back on the Tuesday evening the bungalow smelt like a shed of rotting mushrooms & extremely humid . It had sweated something wicked . There was toadstool looking fungi all over the carpets ,on all our bedding and mould on all our clothes plus big blotches of salted blown plaster everywhere on the walls . All the ceilings had started to droop as they must have used the shortest plaster board nails available when the local tradesmen built the place 20 years previously the extra weight of the absorbed water in them had pulled several down .

Ones which govern charitable street collections , it's been illegal for well over 18 years if my memory serves me correctly, to collect in a public place and make such noises or verbally request donations .
I seem to recall that most local authorities also require you to be registered and in possession of one of their permits for making street collections but don't chew me out if I've got that one wrong .
Seem to think they can be made by head organisations to the authorities concerned such as RBL for the poppy fund donations, RAF benevolent fund and HTH etc etc . so each collector does not have to apply for them themselves .
Local hardware shop were having a clear out, including selling saw blades that had been left in for sharpening but never collected.
Nice fine toothed trend 12" blade & another 10" blade marked adven, both for the cost of sharpening - £20!
6x16A surface mount sockets & 2 plugs, not a bargain at £20 but still cheap considering a single socket costs £8! Most of them will be needed as I'm installing more 16A sockets & swapping all my welders over to 16A plugs.
