I’d say that it’s pushing on towards 4t. Especially as it’s got its own cast concrete slab attached to the base!

my 17x72 is apparently 3.5ton... so yours is 2ft longer + concrete base... must be a fair bit over 4ton?

I think you'd be right, I collected it up with two 2t fork trucks and they struggled a bit. I didn't have a lot of steering!

The Acme Thunderer rings a bell. Not sure if they were ever police issue.

I remember all of my school athletic teachers had Acme whistles, and of course I had to have one when I was a kid; still have it in my old backpacking gear. My next door neighbor was a policeman and had one. If a traffic light went out in a major intersection or if you came upon an accident, policeman would usually be directing traffic using a whistle along with arm motions.

Little for the Thunderer. The Metropolitan requires a fair puff, as it doesn't use a ball. The former is around 2" long, the latter around 3" long.

SEG still use whistles when escorting VIP's. They reckon that sirens get lost in the noise of london, and unmarked bikes with blues and whistles are more effective!

Not strictly today got them yesterday, 36" box pan folder from a chap in middlesborough thanks to somebody's post in the non members for sale section.
And 2 lots of threaded bar m10 and m12 not sure what I will use it for but saved it from the scrap man..

Nice and green paint on the threaded rod may mean it is A2/304 stainless.

Put a magnet on them, if it sticks it is steel, may be a higher tensile grade if it is steel as normally it is not painted. If it doesn't stick then it is 304 stainless. Red usually denotes 316 stainless on threaded rods I think.
