Today, a pal called to borrow spanners/sockets for a job on his mower and brought me a shoemaker's last which he'd found in one of his sheds...."because you do things with stuff"....

It's a small one, used I think for childrens' or womens' footwear. As yet, it's not been allocated a place or use on 'the list', but......

I got a "normal" sized one on my "to do" pile - I think it will make a tripod stand for a desk lamp I have planned:

I have a small (3in) vice that I'm going to take a mould of, and cast in clear resin, to make the "light" part

I’ve got one of those, I keep it under the bench to use as a anvil to beat sheet metal over. That was the idea, been there 20 years used it ........ once.

16a commando lead, in good quality 2.5mm flex, no prizes for spotting the mistake made when making up the lead. Never mind, I got 10m of good flex for £6!

2 patio heaters, err I mean 2 calor gas bottles.

These are for gas central heating & have a male outlet connection. That's why I got both bottles for £10, the orange 47kg cylinders usually make £30 each!

@slim_boy_fat Does your last have any government markings on it. Broad Arrow, stock numbers etc?

If it does, it may of been broken to render it useless, as it was earmarked for disposal through scraping.
Breaking it was and still is a common method to make a item what may have a value out side the government set up.

I’ve been needing a few things to finish a couple of projects. A new hose for my hut hoover, some wood for garden edging, and some hut shelves, and a couple of bits of ply for lining a bit of the hut.

Being a lovely day, I took myself off to a couple of fly tipping areas near me (hate fly tippers, so I see it as my civic duty to remove odds and bods). The gods were smiling, and I collected one old hoover plus hose, wood for edging, a solidly made child’s shelving unit (lovely shade of pink), and four pieces of bathroom wall sheeting stuff (whatever it’s called), which is even better than plywood.

I think I dun good, but was surprised at how many plastic kiddies toys had been dumped by someone. Broke my heart to leave them behind.

You did good.
Fly tippers are a bane.
But I can not leave good toys behind, I will collect them. I will wash them and give them to a few charity shops I favour to support. What they can't use, they have connections to ensure they do.
