Apologies to julianthegypsy for not putting this up yesterday, but had a bit of a bombshell dropped on me in the evening. Anyway, thanks for the hospitality and cup of tea. Here's what what I acquired yesterday:

A cracking Pollard bench drill from my home town Leicester!

Great to see you, and glad it's gone to a good home. Now you know where to get a cuppa when you're passing too! Now what to put in the free 4 square feet!

Have you any old mowers now or gone over to rotary stuff like most people. The rotary ones are easier for sharpening. I’ve got a lion side wheel, are they called, that’s in bits.

In England we had about 20ft square of lawn so it was ideal to ditch the hover mower and use the push mower.

Here in NZ we have a quarter acre so I’ve got this little husky ride on that can pull a trailer. I sold the push mower, sad but you can’t hang onto everything. I was restoring a winch a while back with a very similar mechanism, ratcheting on one stroke, happy memories came flooding back.

Today’s acquisition for $5 - Kincrome sliding T handle, cheap as chips... speaking of which

Today a couple of DeWalt items turned up, An angle headed impact attachment and a folding utility knife for my tool bag.

Both of those are excellent I also have them. I got the offset drive adapter for a tenner as well what a useful tool!

Yes Julian, but I'm very happy. I'm pretty much made up now, apart from some kind of saw, I'm complete! ()

Had to go to the bigger B&Q today to get some more laminate flooring (they have changed their flooring lines and the stuff I need for the kitchen to match the rest of the house had been sent to the larger store to go on clearance) and picked up these 2 boxes of screws. 1400 pieces per box, one was £25 the other was £20. They should keep me going for a little bit, I was getting low on some sizes.

You can get those in screwfix too (same company as b&q). They are good value considering you are getting a really good box with them. The turbogold screws are brilliant but you'll get a scare when you want to refill the box - they are expensive!

Nice one! Turn it around so it's across the timber wall and the headstock is away from the corner. It's a change-gear lathe and fiddling with the gears will get old very quick where you have it situated. Either that or put a low bench in the corner for the drill press to stand on, that'll give you half a chance at least.

Thanks for the advice Pete, nothing is screwed down yet, so things can be moved around reasonably easily. I'm presently building a bench for the drill.
There's also an old 1920's lathe in there that I might sell to give me a little more space.

Mine's set up with the headstock end towards the garage door for long stuff through spindle, tailstock end lined up with mill table so I can put a tailstock on it and get a few feet more between centres too.
