Today I acquired and phone call, then a trip on a plane to Belfast.
But I did get double Meal allowance.
Being stuck in Dunstable is bad enough without that added on....a bad taste in my mouth!
Just stopped for the night at a customers’ yard near Dunstable, they’re happy for us to park overnight as long as we’re away by about 07.00. The access is directly off a roundabout, and if the yard is empty it’s a simple matter of turning left into the yard then locking it round to face back out. Tonight, however, two of our artics are already parked up, so I have to go past the entrance and make a blindside reverse into the yard, with a queue of cars gathering behind while I make the manoeuvre. Even worse, it’s going dark, and I’m carrying a 10’ wide site cabin so rearward visibility is even more restricted.
Do my workmates jump out and watch me back? No, they sit in their cabs gazing intently at their phones while I wrestle with 18 metres of artic and a queue of impatient car drivers. To say I’m p****d off is a massive understatement, and words to that effect have been put on my faceache page. As the company monitor all our posts, doubtless something will be said tomorrow, but it really is a sad day when your so-called workmates can’t be bothered to help out.
(Rant over, and apologies for letting off steam, it’s been a long week. Drove from Sunderland to Elgin on Tuesday with 2 large septic tanks, offloaded them yesterday and got back down to Glasgow, then drove to Peterlee this morning to load this cabin for Watford tomorrow morning.)
A multi tool. One of the most useful tools goingI actually picked this up the other day, managed to use the new kitchen as an excuse again. So far that's the track saw and now the jigsaw, I wonder if I'll be able to wangle anything else.

I've got an erauber one and it has really been coming in handy. I quite like it for cutting plasterboard, I'm a lot neater with it than with a stanley knife.A multi tool. One of the most useful tools going
