I didn't realise Men In Sheds had Women, I thought they had the WI, or do you need to be fully inclusive these days?

It's open to all men .

It's just that the women seem to have more wo (e) according to some dinosaurs

The Men's shed I used to belong to has in the landlords terms that any group using any of their premises must have an all inclusive policy it's the same with Mens Sheds Whales but it's acknowledged that it might be mainly males only .

Well, yesterday really - a phone call from a nice young lady from O2's 'Executive Relations' department apologising for al the trouble I'd had with the 9-day loss of mobile phone signal. This in response to my email to the CEO setting out the circumstances.

£20 [I wasn't looking to make a big amount in compensation and had suggested a token £10 to account for the hours I'd spent on their 'live chat' facility trying to get it restored] credit added to my phone credit and an assurance that should I have any future problems I could phone her direct and she'd get things sorted.

It pays to politely register your dissatisfaction to the very top in some circumstances.

Okay, this should be in the jewelry and precious metals department but I have been looking out for one of these for a couple of years now. My Snap On dealer called me quite excited, he wouldn't tell me what he had. He had never seen one before, only heard mythological stories about them and finally he had captured one. It was mine, for a price. It was not the REALLY eye watering retail price but I did hesitate. It will just remove some uncertainty from some jobs so the deed was done and I brought it home with me.

Well, it has a backlight. You could almost use it as a torch!

If that doesn't work you could press it into service as a torque screwdriver! :-) It measures in any and every permutation of force and angle. Really really trick piece of kit. With an appropriate price tag Reassuringly expensive is the phrase I think.

Certainly as rare. It really is very trick, as you approach the correct setting the clear ring at the top starts to flash yellow then amber then green when the correct torque is reached. If you go over it goes red and the display holds the peak torque you have reached until you release it so you can back off and try again. It is not something you just buy, you really need it to earn it's keep.

I have a really nice Wiha torque screwdriver but it is such a pain to reset it to a different value I tend to guesstimate a bit with it. This will remove the uncertainty.

Just don't hold the same hope for any problem with Machine Mart stuff if the posts I've read on here are anything to go by .

Having spent the morning blowing leaves and spiders out and emptying a tin of 3 in 1 and a tin of GT85 over them I have high hopes of two of these working, and very low expectations of the third. I have invested £3.80 in two spark plugs...

Dropped more stuff of to the charity shop and was given a ex DHL Box.
To be honest, some of the stuff I get is no use to me. But I take it anyway.

I looked into the box and was happy to ask what a suitable donation would be expectable. The staff said £5.
I was happy to give £10.

Today I brought back to life a tool thrown away as dead which I rescued out of a dumpster, or skip as they are called on this side of the pond. All I wanted was the cord for another tool I have, but thought I'd have a go at seeing why it was tossed. Plugged it in, pulled the trigger and could smell something burning. Upon opening it up I found the motor was clogged with mortar dust, so after blowing it out with the air compressor I put it back together and gave it a test drive. Works fine and no burning smell like before; happy day !

Welder turned up today, unboxed it and had a play.

Found one of those cheap Aldi welding rods so buried it into a bit of 3mm flat at about half power.
