Found one of those cheap Aldi welding rods so buried it into a bit of 3mm flat at about half power.

All I bought was a bigger tap wrench a #4, 3/8 - 1” or M9 - M27 it’s a good 20” long.

Not yet Keith, I need to get a half size gas bottle and a few 5kg rolls of mig wire. Will do a review on it, first impressions of the arc side of things are good, certainly a lot smoother and more stable as an arc welder than my other small inverters. Will report back over the weekend.

Dropped more stuff of to the charity shop and was given a ex DHL Box.
To be honest, some of the stuff I get is no use to me. But I take it anyway.

I looked into the box and was happy to ask what a suitable donation would be expectable. The staff said £5.
I was happy to give £10.

The Dross.
A Bubble stick.
Leather Knife.
Temperature probe, it does work.
Saw set or a sheet metal gauge. Not looked to deeply into that.
Pop Oil can. With oil.

I acquired this Blow torch yesterday, to be honest it is not what I need.

But boredom overtook me last night and I went out and had a play.

The pump was seized, but a bit of WD40 and it freed up, but more importantly it was holding pressure.



Not looking safe.

Picked up my free gift today

A Myford ML7, 1949-50 vintage. Been in someone's garage for the last 10 years after the owner died, so covered in muck. Depending on how much wear I find I will either refurb it and move it on or part it out. Been promised a box of accessories when they can find it.

As free gifts go that is a good one. Get all the dead tree out of it and enjoy.

PS. I hope they find the box of accessories, you can spend a fortune buying all the bits and pieces you will need want when you get a lathe.

Okay, this should be in the jewelry and precious metals department but I have been looking out for one of these for a couple of years now. My Snap On dealer called me quite excited, he wouldn't tell me what he had. He had never seen one before, only heard mythological stories about them and finally he had captured one. It was mine, for a price. It was not the REALLY eye watering retail price but I did hesitate. It will just remove some uncertainty from some jobs so the deed was done and I brought it home with me.

I acquired this recently, any thoughts on what it is? It measures about 1m diameter.
