Could have done with that bad boy when I stupidly bunged my head in a pipe on a wreck and nearly ended up feeding myself to a moray with a head like a German shepherd
It looks a bit overkill, but it’s been the one constant piece of my dive kit in almost 20 years of sub aquatic adventures.
It gets cleaned and checked after every dive and I keep the cutting edge very keen, and on at least 6 occasions it’s cut me clear of nylon monofilament netting that I couldn’t see which got tangled around my first stage. It also does a great job of cutting rope that gets wrapped round weekend admiral’s propellers

Still have most of my dive gear, even though I haven't been in the ocean since the late 1990's. For some reason I noticed my wetsuit had shrunk when I was sorting out what I couldn't part with, as I was downsizing to ship things across the pond here.

Easy to access and deploy, and razor sharp, backed up with an equally sharp Remora knife that lives in a sheath that’s clamped to my air-integrated computer hose. 2 knives and 2 cutters cause eyebrows to be raised quite often, but better safe than sorry. And I find keeping the cutting edge sharp with a whetstone to be disturbingly therapeutic...

I found the spring loaded window breaker I had in my pfd pocket raised plenty of eyebrows

I use to take a plastic jerry can filled with hot water when we would go on beach dives and prime the inside of my wetsuit with a quart or so. It took the edge off getting that cold shot of seawater down your neck and using your body energy to warm things up. Made for a longer more comfortable dive.
EDIT: just to keep o0n topic, today I acquired some scrap steel from my neighbour to make up a cantilever joist hanger.

I dived the wreck of the Hispania in the Sound of Mull on one occasion with a guy who’s weights included a 4lb lump hammer, chisel and crowbar...
Absolute madman, he thought nothing of disappearing into holds full of silt if there was the vaguest chance of finding anything non ferrous. How he never became a statistic is a complete mystery to me, but I only dived with him that once...
