Today [well y/day, but I was away] and a big thanks to Charlie [@Chillitt] I received these - another supply of pistons for my clock-making. I'm away for virtually all of next week, but a date with the u/sound cleaner is on the cards once I get the bits separated.



Bonus points for anyone who can identify the engines they came from.

An MG Electric lamp from a big old Colchester lathe. I’ve been looking for a lamp to go on my grinder for a while, this seems ideal. It’ll need a fair bit of work but you can’t beat these old lamps for durability

My bike got stolen Monday, it was the nicest and most expensive bike I've ever owned so naturally I was devastated. To cheer myself up I dropped a good chunk of student loan on a better one. (Plus nine hours on trains to collect it!) This is never getting left unlocked in the garden, I might even get a cheap one to roll back and fourth to uni on so this one is always indoors or being ridden.


Never had a carbon frame, rear suspension, dropper post, remote lockout or tubeless tires before. Just look how cool that wheelset is! I can't wait to get home and ride it.

I think its 30t, I might swap it for something slightly bigger but that's pretty common for 1x (no front mech) setups on MTBs. I think my road bike is 52 or 54t so I agree, it looks minuscule.

It’s pretty common on modern MTB’s especially 27.5” & 29” wheeled bikes.

My 29” Giant has a 28 tooth front sprocket.
