I believe they print little shapes, pictures too... I recall a friend who plastered ‘bananas are cool’ with a healthy amount of banana icons and a snowflake all over uni!

My brother and I printed loads before mum realised we were just gonna mess around and hid it. Two years on I'm still finding them hidden inside books and behind picture frames, helpfully reminding me of things like "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams".

not me, but my sister was after a sewing machine, and it was made in 1971, is like new and was free........

my sister and brother in law rent a couple of industrial units in an old mill, and the mill owners also have some small units that they rent for self storage. this came from one of them, where the bills hadn't been paid for a couple of years......she only mentioned she was after a sewing machine a couple of weeks ago and this turned up.

She did well. New Home (now Janome) make very good quality machines. They made the first ever computerised sewing machines back in 1985, and I have one, and love it.

So far I’ve worked out it’s probably cordierite, but haven’t got a clue what to do with it.

My first thought was to use it in the construction of some sort of forge, but I’m not exactly sure how this stuff works - I don’t think it exactly reflects heat, which is presumably what you would want from a forge.

Any ideas?

Used it today for marking out something I used a b lack permanent marker till i get some proper layout ink. I am going to make a holder fro the dti clock great idea cheers pressbrake

I use a Pentel jumbo blue marker for all laying out, its much quicker drying and less messy.

On my way home from Barnstaple today I stopped by to see @The_Yellow_Ardvark (once again I can confirm he’s not yellow nor is he an Ardvark)

I think he’s a bit of a fraud with his name, but don’t tell him. Ssshhhhhh

We had coffee, put the world to rights, then I got one of these

I’ll be honest with you, Mr Vark popped in to mine a good few months ago for a random brew. He saw my baby milling machine, I mentioned that I could do with a vice. He used his special skills to locate one within a couple of weeks. It’s just taken me months to line up all the ducks and actually pic this up.
