He is indeed. It made no sense to get a bit done here, supply from there etc. So he's supplying all the gear inc ball bearing carbon seal turbo, and making up the pipework for the draw through.
Ah the good old days, some serious 'bush work' went on. Most of it seemed to do the job though.

Always a problem when moving on a special. "One mans meat etc" My 700 single is worth nothing as a unit and very little as bits but it was made for my delectation and put another pebble in the bucket.My brother used to have a Bandit 1200; he fitted the upside-down front end from a GSXR-something-or-other to it by designing new yokes - his mate runs a machine shop so there were some mate's rates involved.
It went (and stopped!) well enough but as is often the case, when he came to sell it he couldn't get a decent price so ended up breaking the bike for parts - made more from it that way. Presumably the funny front-end went onto someone else's bike but whether it's still out there...

Yeah, I wanted 17" wheels for sticky rubber options which looked like period aftermarket wheels. But I didn't fancy ancient magnesium, crack testing alloy or having rivets checked and replaced, so actual '80s wheels were out. New Dymags and the like are just plain stupid price, so looking at what was available these R6 wheels fit the bill. Plenty about, reasonably priced, 5.5" rims so no chain clearance issues, much lighter than either the original wheels or the GSXR/Bandit three spokes you see on many builds.Old retro bikes look so much better with 17" wheels and today's tyres
The bike's still away waiting for the draw through housing to arrive, but engine cases etc are done now ready for its return.

The silver barrels are the high comp big bore for the normally aspirated engine going into the Dresda. The single cyl barrel and head are for a 250 cc Two Stroke Rotax engine in a Can Am. The black barrels and cases are for the draw through turbo engine.Things have moved on a touch now. I'm doing some extra work to the bottom end of the turbo engine so that it'll take up to 300 hp, then the boost will be set for around 220 - 250 to keep it reliable. The race stuff for the normally aspirated will allow me (once I select cams) to get that into the 150 - 160 hp bracket. Both will be somewhat lively and no doubt great fun to ride. Once the Dresda is done it'll get taken to a few shows, out for a blast or two, then moved on. I doubt I'll be able to fold myself into the correct position to ride it for more than 20 minutes.
