I’m not being funny but a buddy is a £250 quid Chinese machine. If a distributor starts running tests and trials he isn’t going to make much money. In my opinion it’s a bin job and replace if within warranty.

Oh yeah definitely. One of them buddy’s is okay for a day onsite once a week. But working day in day out. I don’t think any Chinese made machine in that price bracket is cut out for that.

To OP, if you’re looking to spend a bit more have a look at the Lorch MicorStick. They’re only doing the 160 for a few more months so there may be a couple of deals about. The new machine will be multivoltage though which will be very handy for site use.
I have one and it’s solid. I wouldn’t hesitate in buying the new model coming out later this year.

If you’re looking to spend a lot then a Fronius Transpocket 150 or 180 is a good buy.

I also run that loch. It's a good little lift TIG on it not Hf though

A long time ago sanrex were making thermal arcs.
Not any more. Victor is now under the Esab umbrella and the top end tigs ain’t sanrex thermal arc they are the tweco units.

I should not do this your contract lies solely with the firm you bought it off also your consumer rights.
Chill or ask nicely if your supplier might lend you a set to continue the job if it's genuinely pressing.

When I had issues with my Miller unit it was down at rapid for close to a month waiting for a new board. I was surprised they carried out a repair and didn't just send a new unit. I was left a little irritated with the time frame that the repair took.

I'll be looking at the lorch units if I change. Heard they are designed by the same bloke who did the transpockets. So imagine they a near flawless.

I mean the service place that they said they sent it to the shop said that they are not answering or replying them which I highly doubt

I would be contacting Esab or going to their facebook or twitter page and explain the situation as it seems extremely poor service for warranty work. Yes it is a cheap end welder but if it was me then it would be putting me off upgrading to another higher end welder from them.

It's already done that and I won't be buying from the same shop again
