If I used a Tig to generate income and this happened to me, I certainly wouldn't want to be put out of business for 4++ weeks by this situation.
I would make the stretch to buy a second Tig (but not an esab [sorry guys, you failed], and not from that same retailer [sorry guys, you failed bigtime]).
When the warranty unit finally gets sorted out then at least you'd benefit from having it as backup.
Or if the new machine is incredible and the esab just never gets used, ever, sell the esab?
Money is an issue for most of us, but this scenario is what a credit card does best; just pay it off quick before the interest starts to bite too hard (and don't use tv-money-lenders who want to double their original loan amount every month).
Buying on credit card also means you can just ring them to raise a complaint and They get on the retailers back, as well.
Just going by this thread, the Lorch Handytig ac/dc would be my choice, due to comments by Brad and Richard.
The Thermal Arc ac/dc 202 is tempting financially but I'm unclear if its up to the level of work you demand (5-6 hours a day 3-4 days a week welding) any more comments on that, guys?
Having a local-ish retailer normally would be the clincher... but in this case going further afield must be the answer.
Good Luck
